Danforth Company, you’ll play a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations through accurate accounting, reporting, and analysis. This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, monitoring project and operational costs, preparing billing and reporting activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nMaintain project cost ledgers by ensuring payroll, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs are accurately coded and allocated to appropriate cost codes.\nTrack and monitor project expenditures, commitments, and resource allocations against established budgets.\nPrepare and issue accurate, timely monthly customer billings in accordance with contractual requirements and company procedures.\nMonitor project retention balances and assist in securing timely release of retained funds.\nReview and verify weekly labor and field payroll allocations to ensure proper job costing.\nSupport OCIP/CCIP enrollment, compliance, and subcontractor reporting requirements.\nAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.\nReconcile general ledger accounts and research discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.\nPrepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management review.\nMaintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.\nCollaborate with project managers, operations leaders, and finance team members to support project profitability and financial performance.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within mechanical construction, specialty construction, or project-based accounting environments.\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.\nStrong knowledge of construction project accounting, including GMP contract structures, job costing, forecasting, change management, and project financial reporting.\nExperience with project billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting in a construction environment.\nExperience with contract compliance requirements, including OCIP/CCIP programs, preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.\nAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
