Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.\nJob Summary\nDeBra-Kuempel is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our Cincinnati, OH team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation. The Mechanical Estimator will consult with clients, vendors, engineers, and contractors to develop estimates, resolve issues, and ensure scope clarity. Key responsibilities include performing quantitative take-offs, preparing proposals and scope letters, attending pre-bid meetings, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and subcontractors.Essential Duties & Responsibilities\nCollect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects. \nConsult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. \nPrepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. \nAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. \nConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.\nReview contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover\nAttend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings.\nQuantitative take-off and computer entry.\nPrepare scope letters and proposals.\nMaintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.\nCoordinate efforts with the Engineering Department when needed.\nEnsure documents are centrally saved in the company’s drive within the confidential estimating folder(s).\nAssist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work.\nEscalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager with recommendation for resolution.\nComply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.\nPerform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by executives.\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
