IKM Building Solutions is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing for our workforce while supporting timely and efficient accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains strict confidentiality, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information.\nPayroll Responsibilities\nProcess weekly payroll for union employees, ensuring accuracy of wages, overtime, premium pay, and deductions.\nInterpret and apply multiple collective bargaining agreements to payroll processing.\nPartner with operations teams to validate timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies. \nProcess employee terminations in compliance with applicable state regulations. \nReconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll-related issues.\nMaintain employee payroll records, including tax information, leave codes, deductions, and benefits.\nProcess wage increases, promotions, skill changes, and other employment updates.\nAdminister PTO plans and maintain accurate balances. \nManage garnishments, levies, and other payroll deductions.\nPrepare and submit monthly union reports and remittances.\nSupport payroll audits and year-end payroll activities.\nEnsure compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.\nAccounts Payable Responsibilities\nReview invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and approval.\nProcess accounts payable invoices and weekly payment batches.\nMatch invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.\nProcess and print weekly accounts payable checks.\nCommunicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account issues. \nReconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP records.\nProcess tax-exempt certificates and credit applications.\nTrack inventory, material transfers, and job costing transactions within the accounting system. \nManage fuel card administration for field staff.\nAssist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nParticipate in departmental meetings and collaborative projects. \nBuild positive working relationships with employees, vendors, and leadership. \nSupport additional accounting and administrative functions as needed.\nQualifications\nExperience\nMinimum of 1 year of payroll processing experience required\nMinimum of 1 year of accounts payable experience or 2 years of accounting/finance experience preferred.\nUnion payroll experience is a plus.\nConstruction industry experience is preferred.\nJob cost accounting experience is a plus.\nEducation\nHigh School diploma or GED required\nAssociates degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\nSkills & Qualifications\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.\nExperience with payroll and accounting software.\nERP system experience is a plus. \nExcellent organizational and analytical skills.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nEffective communication and relationship-building skills.\nHigh degree of professionalism and confidentiality. \nAbility to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nPrimarily office-based position\nRegular use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.\nAbility to sit, stand, or bend for extended periods.\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt IKM, we value our employees and recognize the important role they play in our success.
