Our integrated in-house production model utilizes coordinated BIM models to produce precise fabrication documentation to help ensure accurate installation.\nJob Summary\nThe Preconstruction Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of all preconstruction activities for mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for managing estimating efforts, conceptual budgeting, proposal development, design-build collaboration, value engineering, procurement strategy, and project transition to operations.\nThe Preconstruction Manager serves as a strategic partner to owners, architects, engineers, operations teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are accurately scoped, competitively priced, and positioned for successful execution. This position provides leadership and mentorship to preconstruction engineers, estimators, and other team members while driving consistency, innovation, risk management, and continuous improvement throughout the preconstruction process.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nLead, mentor, and develop Preconstruction Engineers, Estimators, and other preconstruction personnel.\nEstablish priorities, workloads, and schedules to ensure timely completion of proposals and estimates.\nPromote collaboration between preconstruction, engineering, operations, project management, and executive leadership teams.\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.\nParticipate in recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance development of preconstruction staff.\nDirect the preparation of conceptual, budgetary, GMP, negotiated, design-build, and hard-bid estimates.\nReview and validate quantity takeoffs, labor calculations, productivity factors, subcontractor pricing, and material costs.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, general contractors, and strategic partners.\nSupport business development initiatives and participate in customer presentations, interviews, and project pursuits.\nAttend networking events, industry functions, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence.\nAssist with identifying potential project opportunities and market trends.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical construction estimating, preconstruction, project management, engineering, or related disciplines.\nMinimum of 3 years of leadership or team management experience.\nStrong understanding of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical construction systems.\nExperience preparing conceptual budgets and detailed construction estimates.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.\nValid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites and client locations as needed.\nPreferred:\nExperience within a mechanical contracting environment.\nDesign-build, design-assist, healthcare, data center, industrial, or large commercial construction experience.\nProficiency with Bluebeam, Trimble AutoBid, FastPIPE, FastDUCT, QuoteSoft, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BuildingConnected, or similar platforms.\nProfessional Engineer (PE), Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), DBIA, LEED, or similar industry credentials.\nExperience managing large-scale project pursuits exceeding $5 million in construction value.\nCompensation Range:\nMinimum annual base salary $90,000 to maximum annual base salary $135,000; DOE\nOther Compensation: position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.\n#tands\n#LI-LG1\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
