Our company leadership and skilled electricians build trust through best-in-class services, quality workmanship, safety practices, and reliability.\nPosition Overview\nIn our climate-controlled shop, you will learn about and safely assemble various electrical components that will be installed on our various projects. This is a great opportunity if you're interested in getting into the Local 103 Union apprenticeship program and subsequently working on a jobsite.\n NO AGENCIES PLEASE\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nInclude the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.\nLearn how to splice wires and make connections; put together in-wall box assemblies \nUnderstand power, lighting, and equipment wiring\nPrepare wiring for light fixtures and install\nWire panelboards according to spec\nBend conduit (pipes) and assembly\nThread pipe - rigid conduit\nClean and maintain work areas\nReceive, verify and package product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling) \nStage product for loading \nRead and understand prefabrication prints\nQualifications\n Interested in learning the electrical trade\nInterested in joining IBEW Local 103 \nReading, writing and arithmetic skills\nPunctual and excellent attendance\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nManual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and walk, stand for long periods of time\nAbility to get to Gaston Prefab shop daily\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
