The ECS headquarters team provides key support for its electrical and mechanical companies, including finance and accounting, human resources, legal, national purchasing and information technology.\nJob Summary\nEMCOR Construction Services, Inc. (ECS) seeks Regional Mechanical Operations Director. The Regional Mechanical Operations Director supports operating companies (OPCOs) within the mechanical segment by assisting in the coordination, visibility, and improvement of operational performance.\nThe individual will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer and OPCO leadership teams to strengthen execution discipline, support leadership transitions, and improve operational predictability-without taking control of local operations.\nThe role is grounded in the company’s philosophy:\nOperating companies are led locally.\nThe segment supports, aligns, and strengthens performance.\nECS HQ is based out of McLean, Virginia. However, candidates in other locations and meeting the requirements below may be considered.\nCompensation Range: $200,000 - $250,000\nThis position is bonus eligible.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nOpCo Operational Support:Assist SVP Operations in supporting OPCO performance across assigned region\nParticipate in operating reviews and project discussions\nHelp identify execution risks and improvement opportunities\nSupport implementation of operational discipline (project controls, productivity, planning)\nTravel up to 40-60%\n\nPerformance Visibility & Coordination:Develop familiarity with key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs\nTrack performance indicators such as:\nProject execution trends\nProductivity signals\nSchedule adherence\nProvide structured updates to SVP Operations \n\nLeadership Support & Development:Build relationships with OPCO leadership teams\nSupport new CEO or operations leader transitions\nAssist Strategic Development Leader in onboarding alignment\nLearn how to coach and influence without authority \n\nEnterprise Initiative SupportAssist in coordinating enterprise initiatives including:\nPreconstruction discipline improvements\nProcurement strategies\nProject execution enhancements\nTechnology and AI adoption\nHelp translate enterprise initiatives into practical OPCO actions \n\nAcquisition & Integration Exposure:Support SVP Operations in acquisition integration efforts\nAssist in understanding operational maturity of new businesses\nLearn integration frameworks and expectations \n\nProfessional Development Expectations:Exposure to multiple OPCO business models\nParticipation in leadership decision-making\nCoaching from Operations Leadership\nIncreasing responsibility in operational reviews and support\n\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPosition Requirements/Preferred Education and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related areas of study or field experience; and minimum of 7-10 years Mechanical Construction experience. Prior experience in one or more: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, Fabrication/Prefabrication. Experience must include:\nExposure to multiple project types preferred (commercial, industrial, mission critical).\nBroad understanding of Mechanical Contracting business.\nProven track record of leading projects while maintaining a commitment to Ethics and Safety.\nComputer Skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.\nExperience with Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam or other construction software.\nFamiliarity with construction/financial software packages.\nLanguage Skills\nMust have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
