This position will support the engineering and design of building mechanical utility systems and work closely with project teams and building trades throughout the Design-Build construction process.\nThe ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and an interest in designing and supporting mechanical systems within a fast-paced construction environment.\n#shambaugh #LI-TS #LI-Onsite\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nEngineer and design building mechanical utility systems including steam, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, medical gases, and plumbing.\nApply applicable building and mechanical codes for projects across various jurisdictions.\nParticipate in fast-track construction projects utilizing the Design-Build delivery method.\nAssist with the specification and ordering of mechanical equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, and air handling units.\nAssist with startup and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems.\nCollect field data on existing mechanical systems and assist in evaluating necessary upgrades.\nCoordinate and communicate with building trades, project teams, and other stakeholders as questions arise.\nSupport project needs in both the office and field as required.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n 2+ years of relevant engineering, construction, or mechanical system design experience preferred.\nExperience or familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, utility, steam, and/or compressed air systems.\nFamiliarity with Design-Build or fast-track construction environments is preferred.\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical information.\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate with project teams and building trades.\nFood process or industrial construction experience is a plus.\nRegular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours or weekends when required.\nBenefits\nWe are committed to providing Shambaugh & Son employees and their families with a comprehensive benefits package.
