The Assistant Chief Engineer assists the Project Manager and Chief Engineer with overseeing building operations and maintenance. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99#egs#LI-JC1\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nAssist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the site.\nAssist the Chief Engineer in forecasting and planning upgrades, repairs, and replacements of equipment and systems, as well as enhancing existing systems.\nOversee, schedule, and review subcontractors performing operations and maintenance work.\nSchedule manpower effectively.\nAssist the Chief Engineer in managing preventive maintenance efforts.\nAssist the Chief Engineer in managing service call efforts.\nProvide reports on O&M activities as needed.\nMaintain familiarity with and work within budget requirements.\nProvide effective cost control for O&M efforts.\nMaintain familiarity with contract requirements.\nEnsure all work performed under the contract meets the highest standards. Oversee and provide guidance to O&M staff.\nEnsure all O&M employees are trained in and follow safety requirements.\nEnsure adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.\nMake recommendations to facilitate repairs or enhancements to equipment and systems.\nProvide technical expertise to help resolve issues.\nInteract with company personnel, clients, and subcontractors as needed.\nStay abreast of technical advances, industry practices, codes, and legal requirements.\nTrain other workers to increase their skills.\nAttend necessary meetings.\nAssist with procurement of parts and materials as needed to support the O&M contract\nCreate statements of work for upcoming projects to be bid out.\nAssign preventive maintenance tasks to personnel and track completion.\nImplement OSHA safety regulations and ensure staff work safely and in compliance.\nPerform weekly Work-in-Progress inspections.\nPerform snow removal.\nDirect and coordinate the activities of other workers performing tasks related to operating and maintaining systems.\nRespond to after-hours phone calls, facility emergencies, and critical building issues, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions as required.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nMust possess a Universal CFC certification.\nMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience.\nAbility to read and understand blueprints.\nMaryland 1st Class Stationary Engineer License or DC 3rd Class Steam Engineer License preferred.\nOSHA 501 Trainer certification preferred.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAs a leading provider of mechanicaland electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure,we offer employess a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and sucess.
