Our company leadership and skilled electricians build trust through best-in-class services, quality workmanship, safety practices, and reliability.\nThe Electrical Designer will lead the electrical design efforts for projects and work closely with the project team throughout (layout, rack, pipe runs, electrical rooms). They will partner with the BIM team to ensure accurate information is loaded into the model and coordinated with all trades, and all drawings are signed off on. They will work with the PM, Prefab Manager and Foreman to identify all Prefab opportunities. They will also work with the Prefab Design team to create build books for the Prefab shop.\nNo agencies please.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nReview project with Project Manager and ensure you understand how project was estimated including workforce hours, the schedule, the specs, all drawings, and the submittals \nDevelop the most effective way to build our projects\nIdentify prefab opportunities and communicate with Prefab Manager\nPrioritize tasks to be done and use a six week schedule to manage workload\nWhen GF/FM is assigned, ensure they understand the plan \nReview any install drawings you do for the field with GF/Foreman and Design Team\nUse common tool sets (ex. assemblies) to get field install drawings more consistent \nUtilize model in software to create a Bill of Material\nVisit jobsites and ensure the field understands the intent of prefab and how to install it. \nTrain new crews of prefab means and methods\nSeek feedback from the field on ways to improve and incorporate constructive feedback into new projects and processes\nCommunicate regularly with the PM and Field and ensure company standards are shared and followed. They are your customer.\nAttend project Coordination meetings and represent Gaston as the technical expert \nWork towards “On Time Deliveries”\nBe Accountable (take ownership of your role) and hold others accountable to ensure we avoid unnecessary delays or issues on projects\nQualifications\n5+ years commercial electrical field experience OR Electrical engineering degree + 2 years electrical design experience low or medium voltage; previous coordination experience or familiarity with the coordination process helpful.\nFamiliar with all electrical systems \nThorough understanding of Electrical, Fire Alarm, Low Voltage systems and their field/prefab/coordination constructability \nAble to layout electrical systems.\nAble to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment but has a desire to lead.\nProactive and likes to think critically to solve problems; analytical \nAble to communicate confidently, effectively and professionally - verbal and written \nComfortable using and learning new technology: MS Office (required), Bluebeam (preferred), Navisworks (not required), MS Teams (internal communication tool) (not required), Revit (preferred) \nAble to handle and prioritize multiple projects\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\n#LI-hybrid, #LI-KW1, #LI-NR1\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
