Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.\nJob Summary\nDeBra-Kuempel is seeking to fill a Piping Estimator position. The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, takeoffs, and proposals for projects. This role collaborates with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams to develop competitive bids and support successful project execution. The ideal candidate has strong electrical estimating experience, construction industry knowledge, and the ability to produce design-build, budget, and conceptual estimates.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nCollect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products. \nConsult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. \nPrepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. \nAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. \nConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. \nAttend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings \nPrepare scope letters and proposals \nReview contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover \nAssist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work Complete quantitative take-offs and computer entry \nMaintain strong relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors and subcontractors \nCoordinate the efforts of junior and staff-level resources in performing take-offs, issuing bills of material to vendors and obtaining subcontractor quotes \nEnsure documents are centrally saved in the company’s drive within the confidential estimating folder(s) \nEscalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Division Manager with recommendation for resolution. \nPerform additional assignments as assigned \nQualifications\nHigh School diploma or GED required. \nBachelor of Science in or Master of Science in engineering or construction related field preferred. \n5+ years of estimation and project management experience in the electrical construction industry. \nAbility to perform design/build, conceptual and budget estimates \nKnowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation. \nWorking knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines. \nMust demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel) \nFamiliarity with electrical, technical, or construction programs. \nFamiliarity with project management/document control software. \nFamiliarity with construction/financial software packages. \nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
