External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.\nYour Role:\nThe Associate Production Scientist - 2nd Shift at MilliporeSigma is focused on manufacturing or evaluating products according to established protocols, provides technical support to others, leads safety and quality, and performs operations in support of the group and department. Additional responsibilities include:\n Shift: 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm, including a 7% shift differential.\nWill involve 6-12 months training necessary to learn specifics of job adequately to work independently\nSafely perform operations to meet quality expectations.\nPerform safe chemical-handling techniques\nEnsure safety and quality throughout the process.\nAdequately trained to perform tasks/assignments.\nPerform routine tasks, processes and/or unit operations.\nComplete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines.\nContribute to support functions of the department (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, perform waste disposal, design & build chemical packaging apparatus, create & maintain work instructions, troubleshoot process/equipment issues, etc.).\nCommunicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor.\nProvide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines (GDP).\nEnsure all applicable documentation has been filled out completely (as required by current procedures).\nInteract & liaise with other departments as needed, including QC, Manufacturing, Shipping, etc.\nParticipate as needed in quality & safety audits.\nAccurately perform procedures independently. \nComply with change control procedures.\nIdentify & Improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and guiding principles.\nParticipate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisor, Scientist, or your own.\nTake the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions.\nTrain personnel and act as a technical consultant as needed.\nPerform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates.\nSupply, Interpret, & Improve information based on experience and knowledge.\nPerform public speaking as needed, including monthly safety meetings.\nParticipation in Medical Emergency Response Team and/or Emergency Spill Response Team.\nPhysical Attributes:\nWorking with highly potent / hazardous materials and chemicals safely using proper PPE\nOccasional lifting and pushing of up to 50 pounds.\nWho You Are:\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science discipline\nPreferred Qualifications:\nKnowledge in chemistry, math, and general science\nIndependent lab research experience\nStrong background in chemistry, experimental design, and/or lab/manufacturing safety.\nFamiliar with laboratory instruments and production equipment\nKnowledge of process techniques and unit operations\nFamiliar with analytical techniques and equipment\nGood oral and written communication skills\nAbility to use various computer programs, including MS Office, inventory control software (i.e., SAP), and quality management software\nBasic-to-intermediate mechanical skills (i.e., use of basic hand tools)\nStrong troubleshooting, organizational and interpersonal skills \nLaboratory, chemical manufacturing, and/or analytical skills\nKnowledge of ISO Quality standards\nRSREMD\nPay Range for this position: $26.00 - $41.00\nThe offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
