We’ve been in business for over 50 years, and every day, we’re looking for new and more innovative ways to provide better service to our customers and grow our business.\nJob Summary\nThe Decommission Technician is responsible for disassembling decommissioned power distribution equipment, salvaging reusable components, and ensuring proper handling and disposal of oils, solvents, and other materials. This role supports safe, efficient material flow through the decommissioning process while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Success in this position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nDisassemble decommissioned power distribution units.\nSalvage metals and reusable components from decommissioned equipment.\nProperly handle and dispose of oils, solvents, and other liquid compounds in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.\nMove units along roller conveyor tracks from in-process areas to the decommissioning building.\nUse hand and pneumatic tools to complete assigned tasks.\nOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment as required.\nMaintain responsibility for tools and equipment in the assigned work area.\nKeep the workstation safe, clean, and orderly at all times.\nWork closely with other associates in a team-oriented environment.\nMeet productivity expectations while maintaining safety and quality standards.\nWork overtime or call-in hours as required.\nPackage or bale materials for shipment.\nLoad trailers for shipment.\nSkills Knowledge and Expertise\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience\nPrior experience is construction or manufacturing environments not required but will be considered.\n Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nMechanical aptitude and ability to work with industrial equipment.\nAbility to use hand and pneumatic tools.\nUnderstanding of basic shop and industrial safety practices.\nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions.\nSelf-directed with the ability to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\nAttention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.\nHonest, trustworthy, reliable, and hardworking.\nPhysical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.\nComfortable working in extreme
