As demand accelerates and regulatory landscapes evolve, this role will be instrumental in ensuring we can scale effectively while navigating complex policy environments.\nYou’ll help translate external regulatory developments into clear, actionable insights that inform company strategy. You’ll play a key role in identifying risks and opportunities, shaping our policy positions, and ensuring alignment between our business objectives and the broader regulatory context.\nYou’ll work closely with legal, product, operations, and leadership teams, as well as external stakeholders including regulators, policymakers, and industry groups. This role requires a high degree of ownership and judgment - you’ll be expected to operate independently, prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment, and influence decisions across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonitor and analyze policy developments across relevant jurisdictions (e.g., energy, infrastructure, AI, or technology policy)\n\nTranslate regulatory changes into business impact, providing clear recommendations to internal stakeholders\n\nSupport policy strategy development, including identifying risks, opportunities, and engagement priorities\n\nDraft policy materials, including briefing notes, consultation responses, position papers, and executive memos\n\nEngage with external stakeholders, including regulators, policymakers, industry associations, and partners\n\nCoordinate cross-functional alignment with legal, product, operations, and leadership teams\n\nSupport advocacy efforts, including meetings, submissions, and public-facing initiatives\n\nMinimum requirements\n5+ years of experience in public policy, government, regulatory affairs, or a related field (e.g., government agency, consultancy, think tank, or in-house)\n\nStrong understanding of regulatory processes and stakeholder landscapes\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex issues clearly and concisely\n\nExperience drafting policy documents or engaging in regulatory processes\n\nComfortable operating in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment\n\nProven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority\n\nExperience in relevant sectors to Emerald AI (e.g., energy, infrastructure, AI/tech)\n\nPreferred requirements\nExperience working with or before state Public Utility Commissions and/or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).\n\nExperience working with or before Independent System Operators/Regional Transmission Organizations (ISO/RTOs) (e.g., PJM, ERCOT)\n\nExperience engaging directly before regulators or government officials\n\nExperience at a high-growth company or scaling organization\n\nWhat We Offer\nMake an impact.
