Quality Assurance Specialist

We're seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to help ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of innovative virtual reality applications, web platforms, and educational technology products. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of QA experience who enjoys uncovering issues before they reach users and takes pride in delivering high-quality software experiences.

You'll work closely with Product Managers, Developers, Clinical Subject Matter Experts, and fellow QA professionals to validate new features, identify defects, improve testing processes, and support successful product releases. The ideal candidate combines strong manual testing skills with exposure to automation practices and brings a natural curiosity for exploring edge cases and testing beyond expected workflows.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual testing for web applications, platform features, and virtual reality experiences.

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases that validate business requirements and identify potential edge cases.

• Investigate and reproduce reported issues, documenting findings with clear and actionable detail.

• Create and maintain detailed bug reports, including reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.

• Validate bug fixes and confirm resolution prior to release.

• Participate in release readiness activities, testing cycles, and quality sign-offs.

• Contribute to test automation efforts and help improve overall testing efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously enhance product quality and user experience.

• Help maintain testing documentation, standards, and quality assurance best practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related role.

• Strong manual testing skills and a solid understanding of software testing methodologies.

• Experience creating test plans, test cases, and defect documentation.

• Ability to think critically beyond documented requirements and identify edge cases, risks, and unexpected user behaviors.

• Experience working within established QA processes and development workflows.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and business domains quickly.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to test automation tools, frameworks, or automation best practices. Experience is more important than a specific toolset, and candidates who have explored AI-assisted automation approaches are encouraged to apply.

• Experience leveraging AI tools to assist with test creation, automation, or QA workflows.

• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Linear, or similar issue-tracking platforms.

• Experience testing web-based applications, SaaS platforms, or mobile applications.

• Familiarity with virtual reality devices such as Meta Quest, HTC Vive, or similar hardware.

• Exposure to mobile device management (MDM) platforms and device testing.

• Strong "test around the object" mindset with the ability to identify issues beyond defined requirements and expected workflows.

• Interest in healthcare technology, simulation, education technology, or emerging technologies.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.
