We invest in your growth!\n\nProfit sharing bonus means as we’re successful, you’re successful\n\nExcellent benefits package including medical insurance, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, FSA, disability, life insurance, and paid parental leave\n\nPrimary Duties\nPartner with clients to establish product vision and backlog\nPartner with clients to assist them in performing the Product Owner role\n\nIn depth requirements gathering and analysis.\n\nDocument requirements as Features and User Stories to share with team.\n\nWork with your team and client to create a plan for delivering on project objectives and achieving business value.\n\nPartner with technology teams to establish client technology roadmap\nCollaborate heavily with technology experts (architects and engineers) to vet requirements for technical feasibility.\n\nSpeak with intelligence on technology topics to clients to establish trust and confidence.\n\nPartner with delivery teams to execute on established plans\nCommunicate technical and business requirements to delivery team.\n\nCollaborate with senior delivery team members to solve complex challenges.\n\nDemonstrate strong understanding of custom software development concepts and best practices in all interactions.\n\nEnsure projects stay on target by regularly communicating status, risks, and change as they occur.\n\nBe a champion of the agile software development process\nWork directly with clients to manage project delivery while encouraging and fostering an agile delivery method.\n\nApply agile concepts in real world settings, adapting principles to client’s level of agile sophistication and working to improve maturity over time.\n\nOwn backlog health and communicate deviation to expected value delivery proactively.\n\nAct as a servant leader to your delivery team.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nProduct Ownership experience\n5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst on complex data engineering projects.\n\nExperience in delivering data engineering projects on modern cloud data platforms and familiarity with concepts around data warehousing, medallion architecture, Power BI, master data management, data governance, etc.\n\nExperience in crafting cost estimates to deliver components or entire projects.\n\nStrong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills are a must.\n\nExperience operating as the liaison between agile development teams and users in defining requirements, performing business analysis, and driving delivery in the right direction.\n\nTechnology knowledge\nExperience utilizing AI tools in product development, product delivery, or project management.\n\nA solid understanding of how websites, web applications, APIs, databases, and the cloud function at a high level.\n\nStrong technical background enabling you to provide credible leadership to development teams and accurately evaluate complex project risks and issues.\n\nExperience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach\nSolid understanding of software development life cycle models including expert knowledge of Agile principles.\n\nExperience with agile work organization tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello, Basecamp, Rally).\n\nA proven track record of successfully implementing custom web application projects using Agile methodologies.\n\nExperience with Traditional Project Management concepts\nExperience with scope, schedule, budget, and risk management\n\nMust be viewed as a trusted source of truth by stakeholders through consistent, transparent, and confident communication.\n\nOwns the narrative around project delivery, ensuring stakeholders are informed, aligned, and reassured throughout the lifecycle.\n\nOccasional travel to client sites may be requested for activities such as annual planning meetings. Although travel is not expected to be frequent, the ability to accommodate occasional travel is required.\n\nNice to Have Experience\nStrong preference towards candidates with experience delivering projects to client expectations, especially in a consulting capacity, software as a service environment, or delivering AI-accelerated (agentic) solutions.\n\nIndustry recognized Agile process certification (PMI-ACP, Scrum Alliance CSM or CSPO, Scrum.org PAL, SAFe, or equivalent)\n\nIndustry recognized Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)\n\nMicrosoft Azure technology certifications (AZ-900, DP-900, AI-900)\n\nExperience on projects utilizing Microsoft stack technologies such as .NET, SQL Server, and Azure as well as JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js\n\nSome examples of profiles/backgrounds that we feel would do well in this role:\n\nScrum master turned product owner\n\nIndependent consultant with previous experience on agile delivery teams (any role)\n\nSomeone who is a product owner with a passion for the technical side of software development\n\nOur Vetting Process\nAt Emergent Software, we work hard to find the best analysts capable of delivering high quality software for our clients.
