You will build strong understanding of statutory requirements, Emerson internal controls, accounting policies and help mitigate accounting and reporting risk. You will bring fresh perspective to enhance accounting processes, conduct day-to-day accounting work and drive issue remediation, coordinate annual external and internal audits, ensure timely completion of regulatory/statistical reporting to governmental authorities.\nThis role will closely collaborate with accounting shared services team and VAT center of excellence on a day-to-day basis to ensure accurate accounting and reporting. You will also work closely with broader finance and cross functional teams to ensure accounting compliance, adherence to Emerson accounting policies and reporting.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nEnsure accurate and compliant financial reporting, including preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements and disclosures in line with local regulations and Emerson policies\nClose partnership with Finance and Shared Services to ensure timely month-end close process and effectively resolve technical accounting issues.\nComplete monthly, quarterly and annual \"data request\" submissions to EMEA HQ team.\nActively contribute to the completeness and quality of account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis. Execute necessary remediation plans for open and unreconciled items.\nMaintain depth and breadth of expertise in Statutory/Technical accounting. \nInterpret accounting standards and internal policies, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and supporting implementation of new requirements.\nDevelop and enhance process documentation, process maps and risk control matrix to improve the internal control framework.\nDrive consistency and harmonization of accounting policies and processes across German legal entities.\nPartner with Internal auditors, external auditors to resolve complex technical accounting matters for Statutory and US GAAP audits.\nLead initiatives defined by management.\nBuild strong cross-functional relationships with EMEA HQ, local finance teams, shared services, and operational stakeholders.\nEnsure transparency on deliverables and timelines, maintaining clear and proactive communication with stakeholders.\nPrepare needed journal entries and support shared services with accounting queries.\nWho You Are:\nHands-on mindset with the ability to balance operational tasks (e.g., journal entries) with guiding and supporting less experienced colleagues\nStrong expertise in accounting fundamentals, particularly HGB and US GAAP\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nStrong interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills\nHigh level of integrity and ethical standards in all business activities\nProject Management experience \nStrong motivation to continuously learn, develop, and grow professionally\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics from an accredited university\nMore than 10 years of experience with HGB and US GAAP, preferably at a multinational company\nFluent in German language with good English language skills\nStrong SAP expertise (especially FICO) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel\nIn-depth experience with Hyperion/HFM\nProven expertise in technical accounting with a strong command of HGB (statutory) and US GAAP.\nExperience managing external and internal audits including preparation of statutory financial statements (notes and management report)\nAbility to anticipate, identify and resolve complex accounting issues.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nHands-on accounting and organizational experience, including coordination with multiple teams / projects simultaneously.\nProcess oriented and strong data management skills\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, global, and matrix organization, with a high level of adaptability to change\nHigh level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism, combined with a positive and proactive attitude.\nAbility to manage large volumes of datasets. \nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nOur Culture & Commitment to You:\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
