Based in Farmington Hills, MI, you will be responsible for the setup, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and operational verification of automated welding machines and tooling. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot equipment while working with PLC controls, electrical and mechanical systems, and tooling integration. You will also work with cross-functional teams to communicate with and host customers.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nAssemble machinery and equipment based on technical drawings and specifications.\nConduct initial testing and commissioning of new equipment to ensure accurate operation. Perform detailed checks and adjustments to ensure equipment meets operational requirements and specifications.\nFit, assemble, and make minor modifications to parts and tooling components using hand tools, mills, and other equipment to attain successful welded assemblies. Verify dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks. Perform tooling/machine integration including assembly, wiring, setup, and debugging.\nPerform weld trials and customer part runs to meet customer specifications. This may involve testing and quality measurements.\nProvide on-site and remote technical support during the commissioning phase. Serve as a technical resource for issues that arise during assembly and commissioning.\nTroubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, electrical controls, sensors, actuators, and other electro-mechanical components with support from Branson engineering as needed.\nEnsure compliance with all safety laws and company policies related to welding and machining operations. Identify and address safety hazards, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.\nPerform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.\nWho You Are:\nYou serve as the cornerstone of our welding operations, employing your resourcefulness to ensure seamless setup and operational verification of welding machines while integrating tooling with plastic joining equipment. In hosting and engaging with customers, you embody integrity and expertise, delivering outstanding service throughout their journey.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nHigh School diploma or GED\n2+ years of experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled, automated, or electro-mechanical equipment\nStrong PLC, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other transferable provider)\nAbility to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and CAD drawings\nExperience with machine assembly, integration, commissioning, maintenance, or field service\nStrong problem-solving and customer service skills\nFamiliarity with diagnostic tools and software\nComputer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word)\nWillingness and ability to travel, including internationally up to 10% of the time\nAble to lift and transport materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds\nLegal authorization to work in the United States\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nAssociate or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field\nTechnical certification in electrical, controls, automation, mechanical, or related field\nExperience with ultrasonic welding, plastic joining, or welding equipment\nExperience with tooling integration and machine setup\nWorking knowledge of ultrasonic welding control circuitry and actuators\nExperience using mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine-shop equipment\nOur Culture & Commitment to You:\n At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
