Digital Sales Engineer

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Work with customers to actively encourage their transition towards digital integration, self-servicing, and digital interactions in cooperation with the local e-commerce managers and other relevant stakeholders, and act as the human point of contact behind the digital relationship.

• Provide pre- and post-sales support, drive the account strategy, build relationships with the customer counterparts, track and understand customer needs and, align Emerson’s offerings to address them, in collaboration with subject matter experts and Industry Leaders.

• need to ensure close collaboration with your assigned Technical Support person, who creates all your quotes, ensuring they have the information they need to be effective and provide you with accurate quotes in expected timeframes.

• Proactively work with customers to increase digital self-service purchasing. Specially, to actively move all accounts that may place unsolicited orders or common RFQs into a digital self-service platform. Be fluent in the benefits of digital enablement and articulate a clear action plan for implementation.

• When necessary, engage with customers through digital tools, e-commerce platforms and other digital means (including Teams and phones) to assist customers in product selection, application support, access to expertise and placement of orders.

• Understand in full Emerson’s unique selling propositions and actively contextualize them to the customer industry needs to maximize business.

• You will be required to acquire new accounts and it will be critical to use external tools like LinkedIn to contact new customers, monitor digital tools and CRM for leads and new opportunities. Proactively act on these to convert potential business in the assigned segments.

• Discuss and agree with sales management monthly actions plans and maintain account plans with short, medium- and long-term sales strategies.

Who You Are:

You have a solid understanding of how people process change, how to build an effective approach, and are experienced with and knowledgeable of change management principles, methodologies and tools. You are an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, and have effective listening skills. Great at establishing and maintaining strong relationships, with the ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goals. Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Experienced in planning and implementing communication initiatives for senior leaders in a global environment.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Degree education (it is not critical to be an Engineer for this role - non Engineers should apply);

• Demonstrated experience selling technologies to customers in the relevant industry;

• Experience in engaging with customers through digital platforms and driving e-commerce plans;

• Interest in new technology and open mind for innovation;

• People person, high interpersonal skills, relationship builder, networker;

• Comfortable with change and able to succeed in contexts of uncertainty;

• Excellent persuasion skills;

• Business acumen and understanding of commercial contracts;

• Excellent communication and presentation skill both in Dutch and English.
