You will work closely with customers, project teams, and service partners to ensure systems are installed, configured, and operating safely and efficiently while providing expert technical support throughout critical project phases.\nIf this sounds appealing to you, we encourage your application.\nLet's go!\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nAct as Emerson’s on-site technical lead during start-up, commissioning, sea trials, and system acceptance activities.\nVerify the correct installation, configuration, testing, and functional performance of marine automation and control solutions.\nDiagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues to minimize operational disruptions and support successful project outcomes.\nInterpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, system documentation, and interface requirements to ensure accurate execution.\nPerform system inspections, testing, validation, and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications and customer requirements.\nEnsure all field activities comply with Emerson health, safety, and environmental standards, customer expectations, and applicable maritime regulations.\nServe as a trusted customer-facing representative, building positive relationships with shipyards, vessel owners, classification societies, contractors, and project stakeholders.\nSupport knowledge transfer activities by providing operational guidance, informal training, and handover support to service teams, and operational personnel.\nDocument site activities, technical findings, commissioning results, and service recommendations accurately and professionally.\nCollaborate with engineering, project management, and service teams to drive continuous improvement and successful project delivery.\nWho You Are\nYou build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You consistently apply knowledge, experience, and sound judgment to analyze situations, solve problems, and deliver practical solutions that achieve results.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nTechnical background in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 5 years Proven experience as Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, or Superintendent in marine/offshore environments, experience supporting marine, offshore, shipyard, or industrial commissioning, service, maintenance, or operational activities.\nUnderstanding of marine automation systems, control systems, instrumentation, valves, actuators, and control panels.\nFamiliarity with PLC-based systems, communication interfaces, and integrated control environments, strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills in fast-paced operational environments.\nAbility to work independently and make sound technical decisions while collaborating effectively with global teams.\nCustomer-focused communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across diverse cultures and stakeholder groups.\nWillingness and ability to travel internationally up to approximately 100-120 days per year.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nExperience as a Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Marine Superintendent, or similar customer-facing technical role.\nExperience working in shipyards, dry docks, offshore installations, or onboard commercial vessels.\nKnowledge of marine propulsion systems, remote control systems, marine automation and associated control and instrumentation systems.\nExperience collaborating with classification societies, vessel owners, EPC contractors, and marine service providers.\nAdditional language capabilities that support collaboration in a global environment.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
