This role provides the opportunity to apply technical expertise in hardware components, cabinet configurations/design, and system layouts to deliver cost effective, high quality solutions that meet customer and project requirements.\nBased at our Headquarters office in Cranberry Township, PA, you will support project execution by translating engineering needs into accurate hardware designs and bills of material, helping ensure on-time delivery while improving manufacturing efficiency. At Emerson, you will collaborate across engineering, project management, manufacturing, and supply chain teams in a culture grounded in innovation, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nUtilize knowledge of hardware components, cabinet layout variations, marshalling configurations, cabinet cabling, and I/O module options to develop best-cost solutions aligned with customer requirements. \nSupport hardware ordering objectives to meet project milestones and on-time delivery commitments. \nPerform hardware engineering activities for assigned projects, including system layouts, cabinet configurations, and design development using AutoCAD or comparable design tools. \nDevelop, maintain, and update accurate bills of material within the ordering system, including preparing and processing change notices as needed. \nMaintain the AEO controlled parts list to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established standards. \nPartner with marketing and proposals teams to support improved hardware cost estimates. \nCollaborate closely with engineering, project management, supply chain, and manufacturing partners to resolve issues and support smooth project execution. \nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to standardize designs, enhance processes, and improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.\nWho You Are:\nYou build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You make sound and timely decisions by evaluating technical requirements, cost considerations, and delivery needs. You gain the confidence and trust of others through clear communication, consistency, and a strong sense of ownership.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related STEM discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.\n2+ years of related professional experience in engineering, ideally within electrical systems, automation, controls, or a closely related technical discipline.\nAbility to interpret customer and project requirements related to hardware design, cabinet layouts, marshalling, cabling, and I/O configurations.\nExperience creating and maintaining bills of material and supporting engineering change processes with strong attention to detail.\nProficiency using engineering or business systems and comfort working with structured part lists and controlled items.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams.\nAuthorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
