The candidate will act as a lab owner, ensuring engineering teams have the required hardware, test systems, and machine configurations to support development and validation activities.\nThe role requires a combination of IT support, hardware management, lab administration, and coordination with engineering teams for machine setup, maintenance, and infrastructure changes.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nLab Administration & Ownership\nServe as the primary point of contact for engineering lab operations.\n\nMaintain overall lab health, organization, and operational readiness.\n\nEnsure test benches, development systems, and lab equipment remain functional and available.\n\nCoordinate lab infrastructure changes and equipment relocations.\n\n Hardware & Procurement ManagementWork with procurement teams to identify, order, and track hardware requirements.\n\nManage hardware including:\nNational Instruments (NI) Modules\n\nPXI/PXIe Chassis and Controllers\n\nEngineering Workstations\n\nTest Equipment\n\nNetwork Devices and Peripherals\n\nCoordinate with vendors for quotations, procurement, repair, and replacement processes.\n\nAsset & Inventory ManagementMaintain accurate inventory records and asset tracking databases.\n\nTrack asset allocation, ownership, utilization, and availability.\n\nConduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation activities.\n\nManage hardware lifecycle from acquisition to retirement.\n\nMachine Provisioning & MaintenanceConfigure, deploy, and maintain engineering and test machines.\n\nPerform machine imaging, reimaging, OS installation, and recovery activities.\n\nInstall and maintain software tools, drivers, and engineering applications.\n\nTroubleshoot hardware and software-related issues.\n\nEngineering & Developer SupportSupport developers and validation teams with machine setup and hardware requirements.\n\nAssist with workstation upgrades and hardware modifications.\n\nSupport connectivity changes, hardware integration, and test setup requirements.\n\nCoordinate and execute machine replacement and upgrade activities.\n\nInfrastructure SupportAssist with network connectivity changes and cable management.\n\nSupport rack installations and hardware setup activities.\n\nMaintain documentation related to lab infrastructure and system configurations.\n\nDocumentation & Process ImprovementCreate and maintain SOPs, asset records, and operational documentation.\n\nDrive improvements in inventory control and lab management processes.\n\nEnsure accurate documentation of hardware configurations and asset movements\n\nWho You Are:\nYou build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You effectively communicate information, maintain organized documentation, and support customers with a responsive and service-oriented mindset.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nDiploma (NTTF) in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field; or B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, or a related discipline; or BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nExperience supporting engineering labs, hardware assets, IT infrastructure, or technical operations environments.\nKnowledge of hardware inventory management and asset lifecycle processes.\nExperience with computer hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.\nFamiliarity with Windows operating system installation, imaging, reimaging, and recovery processes.\nUnderstanding of engineering lab administration and operational support activities.\nAbility to coordinate with vendors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders.\nStrong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.\nWorking knowledge of networking fundamentals and connectivity concepts.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and asset management tools.Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and customer service skills.\n\nEffective verbal and written communication abilities.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nExperience working with National Instruments (NI) hardware and related test environments.\nFamiliarity with PXI and PXIe systems.\nExperience supporting engineering development, validation, or test laboratories.\nBasic PowerShell scripting knowledge.\nUnderstanding of development and test infrastructure environments.\nExperience managing hardware procurement, inventory audits, and asset tracking systems.\nExposure to workstation deployment, hardware upgrades, and lab infrastructure project\nOur Culture & Commitment to You:\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
