This position combines hands-on manufacturing support with data-driven problem solving to identify process variation, prevent defects, evaluate tooling performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Operations, Metallurgy, Engineering, Pattern Shop, Maintenance, suppliers, and customers, you will help strengthen quality performance, reduce scrap, and support operational excellence in a dynamic foundry environment.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nMaintain and continuously improve quality controls across melting, molding, core making, pouring, shakeout, finishing, and machining processes to ensure consistent casting performance.\nUtilize metrology tools and measurement systems, including CMMs, 3D scanners, optical equipment, and inspection methods, to verify product conformance and monitor tooling condition.\nInvestigate casting defects, dimensional variation, and process abnormalities by applying structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical analysis.\nDevelop, implement, and sustain process controls, inspection standards, reaction plans, measurement systems, and acceptance criteria that support product quality and operational reliability.\nLead and support corrective and preventive action activities, validate solutions, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport customer quality requirements, including complaint resolution, PPAP/FAI activities, containment actions, and new product introduction processes.\nContribute to Quality Management System effectiveness through documentation, audits, training, standard work development, and supplier quality collaboration.\nWho You Are:\nYou consistently apply knowledge, experience, and sound judgment to make informed decisions and solve complex problems. You analyze data and situations carefully, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions that improve quality, performance, and results.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of foundry, manufacturing, quality, and metrology experience.\nExperience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, or a related technical discipline with a strong focus on measurement systems and process improvement.\nKnowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies, including corrective and preventive actions, statistical process control, capability analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, measurement system analysis, and control plans.\nStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical inspection requirements.\nAbility to analyze data, communicate technical findings effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software applications.\n\nAbility to work regularly in a heavy manufacturing or foundry environment while adhering to established safety and personal protective equipment requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nExperience supporting ductile iron, gray iron, or other foundry casting operations, including green sand manufacturing environments.\nUnderstanding of ductile iron metallurgy, sand systems, core assembly, melt treatment processes, solidification principles, and casting defect analysis.\nExperience supporting PPAP, FAI, customer quality requirements, customer portals, and ISO 9001 audit activities.\nExperience utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), 3D scanning technologies, and metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks, or similar platforms.\nFamiliarity with advanced metrology practices, tooling qualification, and measurement system optimization in a manufacturing environment.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You:\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
