You will collaborate with a global, cross-functional team while contributing to an inclusive, supportive culture that values innovation, technical excellence, continuous learning, and career growth across technology, architecture, and leadership paths.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nAnalyze customer, product, and system requirements and translate them into secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions.\nDesign, develop, document, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, business logic, and system integrations using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.\nContribute to backend and solution architecture, partnering with architects and engineers to make sound technical decisions.\nBuild reusable backend libraries, shared services, and development frameworks aligned with engineering standards and best practices.\nDesign and implement data access solutions for relational and document databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, consistency, and maintainability.\nDevelop and integrate microservice-based and event-driven solutions, including asynchronous communication and resilient message processing.\nImplement security controls including authentication, authorization, validation, auditability, and error handling.\nCreate and maintain automated testing frameworks covering unit, integration, contract, component, and performance testing.\nImprove service performance, resilience, observability, availability, and operational efficiency.\nSupport CI/CD pipelines, containerized development environments, releases, production diagnostics, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis.\nParticipate in code reviews and design reviews while sharing technical expertise and supporting engineering excellence.\nIdentify technical risks, dependencies, capacity considerations, and integration challenges, proposing practical solutions and implementation plans.\nContribute actively to backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria definition.\nParticipate in Program Increment Planning or similar cross-team planning activities by providing technical input, estimates, and dependency analysis.\nCollaborate closely with Product Management, frontend developers, quality engineers, DevOps engineers, cybersecurity specialists, architects, and other stakeholders.\nContribute to technical documentation, API specifications, engineering standards, developer tooling, process improvements, and intellectual property development.\nProvide technical guidance and coordinate complex technical initiatives.\nOffer constructive feedback to support the growth and development of team members.\nPartner with technology leadership to support team development initiatives.\nPerform other responsibilities aligned with the scope and purpose of the role.\nWho You Are:\nYou build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You create an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, helping teams solve complex problems through open communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 5 years professional experience in backend software development, including senior-level technical responsibilities.\nAdvanced expertise in C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, with hands-on experience building production-grade backend services.\nStrong understanding of object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming, concurrency, dependency injection, middleware, configuration, validation, error handling, and resource management.\nExperience designing versioned APIs and service contracts.\nExperience with Entity Framework Core or comparable data access technologies.\nExperience designing and optimizing data models for relational and document databases.\nExperience working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar database technologies.\nExperience designing and implementing microservice-based and event-driven architectures, including messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ.\nUnderstanding of distributed systems challenges including resiliency, consistency, retries, timeouts, and failure recovery.\nExperience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, or comparable technologies.\nStrong knowledge of secure coding practices, API security, secrets management, and application security principles.\nExperience developing automated testing strategies for backend services.\nExperience with cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Kubernetes.\nExperience with observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and production diagnostics.\nExperience using Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, domain modeling, maintainability, and performance optimization.\nExperience working within Agile development environments such as Scrum or SAFe.\nEnglish and Polish language proficiency at B2 level or higher with strong communication and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nExperience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.\nExperience building shared backend libraries, internal platforms, or reusable engineering frameworks.\nKnowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, or similar approaches.\nExperience with SignalR, WebSockets, or other real-time communication technologies.\nExperience designing and operating microservices at scale.\nFamiliarity with OpenTelemetry and observability platforms.\nExperience supporting high-availability, high-throughput, or fault-tolerant systems.\nExperience developing industrial software, edge computing solutions, connected-device systems, or software supporting critical infrastructure.\nExperience with cloud-native development practices.\nKnowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle practices, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and software supply chain security.\nExperience with API gateways, rate limiting, and advanced microservice patterns.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining code quality, confidentiality, security, and intellectual property protections.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You:\nAt Emerson, we believe diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds strengthen our teams and fuel innovation.
