You will collaborate with Product Owners, System Analysts, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders in an Agile environment while contributing to technical decisions, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle Database, and modern web technologies. \nWrite, analyze, and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries to support application functionality, data processing, reporting, and overall system performance. \nSupport and enhance complex legacy applications by analyzing existing code and architecture while identifying opportunities for modernization, maintainability, and performance improvements.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across application, database, API, and integration layers, ensuring timely and effective resolution. \nAnalyze business requirements and technical problems, translating them into scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions.\nDevelop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs, including business logic, integrations, and services connected to Oracle Database. \nDevelop and maintain web application components using JavaScript and HTML and potentially include front-end frameworks like React as required by the application architecture.\nSupport and contribute to integrations with enterprise platforms and services, including authentication/SSO and other third-party or internal systems. \nParticipate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and CI/CD practices, following established software development and quality standards. \nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including technical specifications, API documentation, and troubleshooting guides.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, System Analysts, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders to deliver solutions and resolve complex technical issues. \nIdentify technical risks and dependencies, take ownership of issues, and proactively contribute to application reliability and maintainability.\nWho You Are:\nYou are proactive and can understand complex applications, investigate problems, and identify practical solutions. You are able to navigate existing and legacy systems, understand their business and technical context, and make thoughtful decisions when enhancing or troubleshooting them. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, can explain technical decisions, and are comfortable asking questions or challenging requirements when necessary. You are accountable for the quality and reliability of your solutions, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and follow issues through to resolution.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of software development experience with hands-on delivery across Java and Oracle Database.\nStrong Oracle SQL skills with experience writing, analyzing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data-intensive operations.\nSolid experience developing Java applications and REST APIs using Spring Boot, including business logic, service-layer development, and integration with Oracle Database.\nStrong understanding of Oracle Database and experience working with relational data models, database objects, and application-to-database integrations.\nExperience diagnosing application issues, analyzing existing code, debugging production problems, and implementing reliable solutions across multiple application layers.\nExperience consuming and producing REST APIs, with familiarity with API authentication patterns (OAuth2, JWT) and integration with third-party platforms.\nFamiliarity with the software development lifecycle, including source control, code reviews, testing, deployment, and Agile (sprint-based) delivery.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and branching strategies.\nPreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:\nExperience working with legacy applications, including modernization, technical debt reduction, and application maintenance is a plus.\nExperience with React, NextJS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.\nExperience with Oracle APEX application development and maintenance.\nExperience with PL/SQL, including packages, procedures, functions, and complex queries for data management and reporting use cases.\nExperience with SSO/authentication technologies, such as Auth0 or similar identity platforms.\nExperience with MuleSoft or similar enterprise integration platforms.\nExperience with Salesforce development and enterprise integrations, including Salesforce APIs, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and integration between Salesforce and backend services.\nExperience in learning management, e-learning, or enterprise training platforms.\nFamiliarity with microservices architecture and API gateway patterns.\nExperience working in an international Agile delivery team.\nOur Culture & Commitment to You:\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
