Guided by Emerson’s values of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion, you will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions while continuing to develop your technical expertise and leadership capabilities.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nDevelop innovative and reliable electronic design solutions that meet product and customer requirements.\nDesign, analyze, test, and validate analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic systems.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development from concept through manufacturing release.\nPartner with contract manufacturers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful product transfer to production.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including manufacturing build instructions, bills of materials, and test procedures.\nDevelop and execute design verification and validation activities to ensure product performance and compliance.\nPlan and support EMC testing activities, including pre-compliance assessments, troubleshooting, and formal certification testing.\nWork with regulatory and approvals organizations to demonstrate compliance and provide technical justification where required.\nSupport manufacturing teams in resolving technical issues and achieving product quality objectives.\nContribute to sustaining engineering activities and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.\nMentor and share knowledge with colleagues, fostering technical growth and collaboration across the engineering team.\nSupport additional projects and responsibilities aligned with business priorities and your expertise.\nWho You Are:\nYou build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You consistently achieve results, even under changing circumstances, while demonstrating resourcefulness, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nMin 7 years of demonstrated experience designing and developing electronic systems and products in a professional engineering environment.\nKnowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design principles.\nExperience with electronic schematic capture and PCB design tools.\nAbility to perform board bring-up, troubleshooting, testing, and root cause analysis using appropriate engineering methods and tools.\nExperience using simulation tools to support design and validation activities.\nUnderstanding of signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and product compliance considerations.\nStrong technical problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to communicate complex technical information effectively and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.\nEligibility to work in the United Kingdom and the ability to work from the Cumbernauld site as required.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nDegree, HND, apprenticeship, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience developing products within industrial, regulated, or highly technical environments.\nKnowledge of product compliance, approvals processes, and certification requirements.\nExperience supporting products throughout the full lifecycle, from concept development through manufacturing and sustaining engineering.\nFamiliarity with gas analysis, instrumentation, process automation, or related technologies.\nExperience mentoring, coaching, or providing technical guidance to engineering colleagues.\nExperience working with external manufacturing partners and global project teams.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You:\nAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
