Some assignments may take just a few weeks, while others can continue for a year or longer. Depending on the project, you may work independently on defined engineering activities or collaborate with a larger team of specialists.\nYour work covers the engineering process from detailed design and configuration to testing, commissioning and handover. Throughout these stages, you will be responsible for delivering reliable technical solutions that meet both customer requirements and the quality standards of regulated production environments.\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nPerform detailed engineering, system configuration, integration and testing of industrial automation and process control systems.\nTranslate approved customer requirements and technical specifications into functional automation solutions.\nPrepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Functional Specifications (FS), Design Specifications (DS), configuration records and test documentation.\nPlan and execute assigned engineering work packages, monitoring progress, technical risks and potential changes to the project scope.\nPrepare and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning and qualification activities at Emerson and customer sites.\nTroubleshoot technical issues, investigate root causes and implement effective solutions.\nEnsure engineering activities and documentation comply with Emerson's standards and applicable Life Sciences requirements, including cGMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity principles.\nWork closely with Lead Engineers, Project Managers, customers and other technical specialists to coordinate engineering activities and resolve technical challenges.\nParticipate in technical discussions and design reviews, providing input on system functionality and implementation.\nShare your knowledge with less experienced engineers and contribute to engineering improvements and best practices.\nDepending on the assignment, you may be responsible for a specific technical work package within a larger project or manage the engineering activities of a smaller project yourself. You will have the opportunity to work with different customers and production processes, rather than focusing on the same installation every day.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nAt least five years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within Life Sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or another regulated process industry.\nExperience in industrial process automation, including detailed engineering, configuration, integration and testing of automation or process control systems.\nPractical knowledge of DCS or PLC systems and their applications in industrial production environments.\nAn understanding of cGMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11 and the documentation and quality requirements associated with regulated industries.\nExperience preparing technical documentation and working according to established engineering and validation procedures.\nThe ability to work independently on complex technical assignments, identify issues and take responsibility for assigned deliverables.\nA bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, automation, instrumentation and control, chemical engineering or a related discipline.
