You develop and deliver clear, effective communication that supports understanding, engagement, and successful outcomes across diverse teams.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nStrong experience developing embedded software on Linux-based platforms.\nAdvanced programming skills in C, C++, and shell scripting.\nExperience with device driver development, Yocto build systems, and device tree configuration.\nKnowledge of boot loaders, preferably U-Boot, and familiarity with Linux kernel concepts.\nExperience working with ARM, PowerPC, or comparable embedded processor architectures.\nUnderstanding of embedded hardware components such as flash memory, ADCs, and RTC devices.\nExperience using industrial communication protocols including I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232, RS-485, or Modbus.\nKnowledge of data management using SQLite, JSON, or similar technologies.\nAbility to develop, execute, and maintain unit and integration testing solutions.\nExperience using debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, J-Link, and related technologies.\nKnowledge of secure coding practices and software vulnerability management.\nUnderstanding of open-source software licensing considerations.\nExperience working within agile software development methodologies.\nFamiliarity with virtualized development environments.\nExperience using Azure DevOps or similar platforms for software lifecycle management and CI/CD implementation.\nExperience implementing encryption and data security mechanisms for embedded products.\nAbility to identify, analyze, and address software security vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools and practices.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.\nAbility to adapt, learn quickly, and work effectively in evolving environments.\nBachelor's degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nExperience developing products used for temperature, pressure, electricity, gas, or industrial measurement applications.\nKnowledge of UML or comparable modeling techniques for software architecture and design.\nExperience working with RTOS environments.\nExperience developing user interfaces using the Qt framework.\nFamiliarity with distributed version control systems and collaborative development practices.\nExperience with static code analysis and coding standards compliance tools.\nKnowledge of software build automation frameworks and cross-platform development practices.\nExperience developing multi-threaded applications on single-core or multi-core processors.\nExposure to cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443 and EU-CRA.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, testing, or productivity workflows.\nFamiliarity with threat modeling techniques and security-focused development methodologies.\nExperience collaborating with geographically distributed engineering teams.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You:\nAt Emerson, we foster a workplace where innovation, collaboration, and respect drive everything we do.
