If you are passionate about leading people, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and driving continuous improvement, Emerson offers an excellent\nIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:\nLead and promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all company, OSHA, EPA, and environmental requirements.\nDrive performance improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Employee Engagement through effective leadership and accountability.\nEnsure all welding, hardfacing, and heat treatment activities are performed in accordance with applicable specifications, procedures, standards, and customer requirements.\nLead the development and qualification of welding personnel, processes, and manufacturing procedures.\nPartner with Engineering and Product Development teams to address manufacturability concerns and support new product introductions.\nAnalyze operational and quality data to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve overall process capability.\nDrive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), first-pass yield, throughput, and productivity improvements through data-driven decision making.\nChampion Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, visual management, and standard work initiatives across welding and fabrication operations.\nDevelop and deliver technical training programs related to welding processes, quality standards, and process discipline.\nEstablish and communicate best practices, procedures, and expectations through formal training, visual workplace tools, and team meetings.\nLead efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and the overall cost of quality while improving customer satisfaction.\nCollaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve operational challenges and improve process performance.\nParticipate in the development of capital expenditure plans, support new equipment implementation, and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies.\nDevelop and manage departmental budgets while ensuring efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment resources.\nWho You Are:\nYou put safety first and lead by example in creating a culture where employees are empowered to identify and eliminate risk. You embrace continuous improvement and encourage innovation that improves both employee and operational performance.\nFor This Role, You Will Need:\nBachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience.\nFive (5) or more years of manufacturing leadership experience in welding, fabrication, machining, or related heavy manufacturing environments.\nExperience leading teams and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.\nDemonstrated experience with problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.\nExperience using ERP or manufacturing business systems.\nLegal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.\nPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:\nKnowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, heat treatment, fabrication, and manufacturing operations.\nExperience in a union manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of welding procedure qualification requirements, ASME code, and personnel qualification processes.\nExperience implementing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, SMED, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience managing capital equipment projects, production automation, or welding technology upgrades.\nFamiliarity with welding quality systems, non-destructive testing methods, and weld inspection requirements.\nExperience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations.\nProfessional certifications related to welding, manufacturing, quality, or continuous improvement.\nOur Culture and Commitment To You:\nAt Emerson, we are committed to creating a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
