This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a bulldozer in support of underground wet utility construction activities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working around open trenches, utility crews, and excavation operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and quality.\nResponsibilities\nSafely operate a bulldozer to perform grading, backfilling, site preparation, and earthmoving activities for underground utility projects\nSupport installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems by maintaining proper grades and assisting utility crews working in the ditch\nEnsure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality\nMaintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed\nCommunicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget\nDevelop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines\nEnsure that all equipment is properly maintained and that safety procedures are followed at all times\nIdentify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects\nProvide on-the-job training to new operators as needed\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred\nMinimum of 2 years of bulldozer operating experience in heavy civil construction\nPrevious experience working on underground wet utility projects (water, sewer, storm drain) and around open trenches is required\nAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specifications\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement\nExperience with government contracts and compliance is a plus\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities\nThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
