This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while exploring multiple areas of the landscape industry, including landscape maintenance, installation, design, project management, sales, safety, accounting, human resources, and business operations.\nAs a Landscape Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals and industry leaders who are committed to helping you build practical skills and develop a strong foundation for your future career. Through field experience, mentorship, training opportunities, and participation in real projects, you will gain valuable insight into the daily operations of a successful landscape company.\nEMI takes pride in offering a personalized internship experience designed to match your interests while providing exposure to various career paths within the green industry. Interns are paired with mentors who provide guidance, support, and professional development throughout the program. working both outdoors and in a team-oriented environment, and are looking to gain meaningful, real-world experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist in Project PlanningSupport landscape designers, project managers, and operations teams during project planning and preparation.\nParticipate in project meetings and contribute ideas when appropriate.\n\nField Operations SupportAssist with landscape maintenance, installation, construction, and enhancement projects.\nSupport tasks including planting, mulching, grading, irrigation installation, and hardscape construction.\n\nDocumentation and ReportingMaintain accurate records of project activities, site conditions, measurements, and photographs.\nAssist with project documentation and reporting as needed.\n\nPlant Identification and CareLearn to identify plant species, trees, shrubs, and seasonal flowers.\nAssist with proper planting, watering, pruning, and maintenance practices.\n\nQuality AssuranceHelp monitor project progress and ensure work meets company quality standards and design specifications.\nReport observations and recommend improvements when necessary.\n\nSafety ParticipationFollow all company safety policies and procedures.\nParticipate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and jobsite safety initiatives.\n\nBusiness Operations ExposureGain exposure to additional departments such as sales, estimating, accounting, human resources, and operations management.\nAssist with special projects or assignments as needed.\n\nClient InteractionObserve and assist in client communications to develop professional customer service and relationship-building skills.\n\nTeam CollaborationWork collaboratively with field crews, managers, and office personnel.\nContribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.\n\nLearning and Professional DevelopmentParticipate in training sessions, job shadowing opportunities, and mentorship activities.\nDemonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.\n\nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, Human Resources, Environmental Studies, or a related field.\nStrong interest in the landscape or green industry.\nPositive attitude and willingness to learn.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational and time-management abilities.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nBasic knowledge of landscape principles, plant materials, or construction practices is preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office programs is preferred.\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.\nAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.\nWork Environment\nRegular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and sunlight.\nFrequent work near moving mechanical equipment and vehicles.\nExposure to dust, pollen, noise, and other outdoor environmental conditions.\nOccasional exposure to vibration, chemicals, and uneven terrain.\nFast-paced work environment requires adaptability and attention to safety.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, and reach for extended periods.\nAbility to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.\nFrequent use of hands and arms to handle tools, materials, and equipment.\nAbility to communicate effectively with team members,
