Our dedication, innovative landscape design, knowledgeable staff, continued growth, and commitment to strong client and team relationships help us maintain our position as a leading landscape design/build company in Central Ohio.\nSweep Truck Operator\nJob Summary\nThe Sweep Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a commercial parking lot sweeper truck during overnight shifts while ensuring all assigned properties are serviced according to company quality standards. This position includes managing an assigned route, completing required inspections, performing basic equipment maintenance, and communicating operational issues to management. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafely operate a commercial sweeper truck in accordance with company policies and traffic laws.\nComplete scheduled sweeping services for parking lots, curbs, dumpster enclosures, loading areas, sidewalks, and property entrances.\nFollow established routes and schedules while maximizing efficiency and service quality.\nUtilize backpack blowers, portering equipment, and hand tools as needed to clean hard-to-reach areas.\nConduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately complete inspection reports.\nMonitor vehicle performance and report mechanical issues immediately.\nPerform routine maintenance, including checking fluid levels, cleaning filters, greasing components, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.\nMaintain accurate route documentation, service logs, fuel records, and work orders.\nCommunicate property concerns, safety hazards, customer issues, or damage observations to supervisors.\nEnsure compliance with all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and operational standards.\nMaintain a clean and professional appearance of company vehicles, equipment, and work areas.\nProvide on-the-job training and support to new or backup drivers when assigned.\nUse GPS, route management software, and mobile applications to document work and complete assigned tasks.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record required.\nCDL is not required but is preferred.\nMinimum 1 year of commercial driving, equipment operation, landscaping, street sweeping, or related experience preferred.\nAbility to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.\nStrong attention to detail, dependability, and time-management skills.\nAbility to work independently with limited supervision.\nBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.\nExperience using smartphones, GPS systems, and mobile applications for work documentation.\nBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.\nWork Environment\nRegularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and humidity.\nFrequently works near moving mechanical equipment and vehicles.\nRegular exposure to dust, dirt, debris, fumes, and airborne particles.\nOccasional exposure to vibrations, cleaning chemicals, and electrical hazards.\nNight time driving and work in low-light conditions are required.\nNoise levels are frequently loud and may require hearing protection.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to enter and exit the truck multiple times throughout the shift.\nAbility to walk properties and inspect serviced areas.\nFrequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions.\nAbility to work outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions.\nMust possess adequate vision and hearing to safely operate equipment and identify hazards.\nSchedule\nOvernight shifts (typically beginning in the evening and ending early morning).\nWeekend and holiday availability required based on business needs.\nOvertime may be required during peak seasons or special projects.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance.\nEmployer-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD).\n401(k) with Company Match.\nSupplemental and Voluntary Benefit Options.\nPaid Time Off (PTO).\nPaid Training and Career Growth Opportunities.\nCompany-provided uniforms and safety equipment.\nEnvironmental Management Inc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
