In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing accurate, manufacturable mechanical designs that meet customer requirements and support efficient production. You’ll work hands-on in SolidWorks and collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions that contribute to EMIT’s long-term growth.\nKey Accountabilities:\nDevelop and maintain mechanical designs, including SolidWorks models, drawings, and related documentation\n\nEnsure designs meet performance, quality, safety, and manufacturability standards prior to release to production\n\nApply and follow established CAD standards, part libraries, revision control practices, and documentation requirements\n\nCollaborate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities\n\nSupport Project Managers by providing design input, technical feedback, and timeline estimates throughout the project lifecycle\n\nParticipate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design quality and consistency\n\nWork with internal sales teams or customers, when needed, to clarify requirements and design intent\n\nIdentify and resolve design issues, including tolerance, fit, and manufacturability concerns\n\nContribute to the improvement of design workflows, checklists, and design-for-manufacturability standards\n\nDrive continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to design processes, tools, and documentation practices\n\nExplore and apply new SolidWorks features, tools, or design methods to improve efficiency and quality\n\nSupport new and existing product development efforts with innovative mechanical design solutions\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent hands-on experience\n\nStrong proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design best practices\n\nSolid understanding of manufacturing processes, design-for-manufacturability, and revision control\n\nExperience working cross-functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and project teams\n\nStrong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and standardization\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment\n\nClear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders\n\nSelf-motivated, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement\n\nPhysical and Safety Requirements:\nAbility to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time\n\nOccasionally lift and move office materials or documents up to 25 lbs\n\nWe are
