  • Collaborate with investigators and research teams to translate study protocols into data collection tools (e.g., CRFs, surveys).
  • Assist with the on-boarding and training of study staff (clinical coordinators and data managers) to ensure data integrity and data provenance and associated documentation required from initial capture to final dissemination and publication.
  • Manage and integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., EDC systems, external vendors, surveys, device data).
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and preparation for statistical analysis.
  • Develop queries, reports, and dashboards using tools such as SQL, Python, R, or other statistical software.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards, SOPs, and documentation to ensure compliance and reproducibility.
  • Support regulatory compliance with applicable standards (e.g., GCP, HIPAA, NIH, institutional policies).
  • Train and support research staff on data systems, workflows, and best practices.
  • Identify data-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

  • Manages, from a client business perspective, related systems projects.
  • Ensures a high level of client satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing information systems to the enterprise.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and seven years of experience in information technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Five years working within a health, research, or academic institution preferred.
  • Knowledge of data and information systems standards relevant to the field of biomedical informatics and health systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands-on experience with REDCap or similar electronic data capture (EDC) systems. REDCap preferred.
  • Strong understanding of research data workflows, including longitudinal and multi-site study designs.
  • Experience with data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or query language (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, or Python).
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data standards, and documentation practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Experience in academic and healthcare research.
  • Exposure to data analytics or machine learning workflow.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to translate complex research needs into technical solutions.
  • Adaptability and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Commitment to data quality, integrity, and reproducibility.
