Description

Suicide prevention scholars within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences based at Grady Health System invite applications for a Full-Time Manager of Research Projects. The successful applicant will assist in managing multiple ongoing suicide prevention research projects, primarily focused on:

(1) Adverse childhood experiences and suicide attempts in Black women.

(2) Suicide attempts in Black men via firearms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages administrative and research activities in support of a specialized program or research center.
  • Develops plans for program growth and development and serves as a liaison to various committees or organizations.
  • May oversee the planning, logistics and implementation of various special events such as lectures, seminars, conferences, or research projects.
  • Participates in developing and implementing various program related communications such as websites, publications, multimedia or video productions.
  • May hire and supervise administrative or research related staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating day-to-day research project activities, including administrative tasks, participant recruitment, data collection, and participant compensation.
  • Tracking study timelines and monitoring milestones.
  • Preparing and compiling progress reports for IPRCE and funding agencies.
  • Monitoring and tracking grant expenditures.
  • Managing human subjects protections, including IRB submissions, approvals, and ongoing compliance.
  • Building and managing the REDCap database in collaboration with the biostatistics team.
  • Overseeing data entry, quality assurance, and data cleaning processes.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising research staff in study procedures, assessment administration, and fidelity monitoring.
  • Collaborating with Co-PIs and the Community Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure research relevance and community translation.
  • Liaising with external partners.
  • Participating in developing program communications (websites, social media).
  • Assisting in preparing conference abstracts, manuscripts, and reports for participants and stakeholders.
  • Performing additional related responsibilities as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in a related field such as business administration, research, or information systems management.
  • Program or project management experience strongly preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Interest in mental health and community based participatory research.
  • Demonstrated research project and program management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications.
  • Familiarity with human subject issues, research compliance, data requests of protected.
  • Health information, and Institutional Review Board approval processes.
  • Some experience working with database and statistical software.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
