Senior Software Engineer

This is not a routine engineering role.

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer who is ready to work directly on shaping the next generation of AI coding systems. Someone who thrives on solving real, production-level engineering problems, enjoys deep independent work, and is motivated by making a tangible impact on how AI understands and writes code.

This role requires strong autonomy, technical maturity, and the ability to follow detailed written instructions with precision. You'll work independently on repository-level engineering tasks, make your own technical decisions, and help define what "good engineering" looks like for AI systems. What we expect from you:

• 8+ years of professional Software Engineering experience as the primary target.
• Senior / Staff / Principal level or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong and recent hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience working with complex, production-level codebases.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar repositories and existing systems.
• High level of autonomy and ownership - comfortable working without continuous PM/TL supervision or micromanagement.
• Ability to independently make sound technical decisions and drive tasks to completion.
• Excellent ability to follow detailed written requirements and instructions. This is a critical selection criterion.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and code reasoning skills.
• Good written English and ability to independently work with English-language technical documentation and specifications.
• Up-to-date and detailed LinkedIn profile.
• Availability for 30-40 hours per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Work with real, production-level repositories.
• Evaluate AI coding agents on practical software engineering tasks.
• Identify failures, limitations, and issues in AI-generated engineering solutions.
• Design realistic engineering problems used to evaluate and train AI systems.
• Develop expert-level solutions to engineering tasks.
• Analyze existing code, debug issues, and solve complex repository-level problems.
• Work independently based on written specifications and requirements.
• Submit work for expert review and iterate on feedback when necessary.

Nice to Have:

• Direct, full-time engineering experience at a strong product technology company.
• Experience at FAANG/Mag7 or companies of comparable engineering caliber.
• Experience at established technology companies or scale-ups such as Stripe, Datadog, Snowflake, Shopify, Figma, Vercel, Square, Linear, Uber, Airbnb, Palantir, or similar.
• Strong SaaS/product-company background such as HubSpot, Zendesk, Monday.com, Box, DocuSign, Wix, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar.
• Staff / Principal / Tech Lead / Founding Engineer experience while remaining strongly hands-on.
• Deep specialization in Backend, Frontend, Mobile, Platform, Infrastructure, SRE, or Systems Engineering.
