Empower Yourself.\nAs a member of the Compliance Operations team, the Sr Data Foundry Engineer is responsible for building and scaling user-facing data applications (workshop/custom widgets) on top of a modern data platform to support the digitization and automation of the Compliance Organization. This role will also aspects of AI strategy, design, and integration where applicable to design an industry leading Compliance Organization. This engineer role owns the full lifecycle from external data ingestion through transformation and ontology design to end-user Compliance applications.\nThe Sr Foundry Engineer works closely with business stakeholders to translate real-world workflows into intuitive, production-grade applications within Foundry.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nBuild Data Applications\nDesign and develop custom Workshop applications and widgets in Foundry\nTranslate business workflows into interactive, user-facing tools\nBuild lightweight frontend logic (Workshop or React where applicable)\nOptimize applications for real operational usage (not just dashboards)\nEngineer Reliable Data Foundations\nBuild and maintain API-driven data ingestion pipelines\nImplement production-grade ingestion patterns:Authentication (OAuth, API keys, headers)\nPagination, batching, and rate limiting\nRetry logic and failure handling\nIncremental loads and deduplication\n\nDevelop scalable pipelines using Python and SQL in Foundry\nModel & Structure Data for Applications\nDesign and extend Foundry Ontology\nBuild reusable, well-structured datasets for application use\nAlign data models with application logic and user workflows\nOwn End-to-End Delivery\nPartner with stakeholders to define requirements\nDeliver complete solutions from data ingestion to application layer\nTroubleshoot issues across ingestion, transformation, and application layers\nImprove Platform Standards\nEstablish best practices for:Data quality and validation\nMonitoring and observability\nReusable ingestion and modeling patterns\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nRequired\n2- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience\n4-8+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or similar roles\nStrong proficiency in Python and SQL\nExperience building production-grade data pipelines\nExperience integrating external APIs and third-party data sources\nExperience building user-facing data tools, applications, or dashboards\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in ambiguous environments\nPreferred\nHands-on experience with Palantir Foundry (Code Repos, Transforms, Ontology, Workshop)\nExperience building Workshop applications or similar data-driven tools\nExperience bridging data engineering and frontend/application layers\nFamiliarity with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Airflow, dbt, or similar tools\nExperience in financial services, compliance, or regulated environments\nWork Environment & Disclaimer\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications of the job.
