That means improving architecture, performance, separating responsibilities, and continuing to ship new innovative functionality.\n\nAnd that's where you come in.\n\nWhat you'll work on\n\nAs a Full Stack Developer, you'll work across the product: from React interfaces to Python backend logic, databases and integrations with external accounting systems.\n\nOne day you might optimize a slow data flow. The next, you're restructuring part of the backend or figuring out why an obscure SOAP API behaves differently from its documentation.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\n Continually evolve our architecture into a scalable and production-ready platform.\n\n Create clear boundaries between our data/integration layer, business layer and output layer.\n\n Improve backend performance, reliability and scalability.\n\n Develop and maintain integrations with external APIs.\n\n Design and optimize our PostgreSQL data layer.\n\n Build new product functionality in Python and React.\n\n Connect frontend to backend, and turn visual prototypes into production-ready code.\n\n Collaborate with a super cool team.\n\nWe care about quality, and strongly believe that it should be balanced with speed. You'll need to understand when something needs to be engineered properly and when getting something into users' hands matters more. As we are a startup we expect you to understand this delicate balance between quality and speed.\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\nYou don't need to know absolutely everything. We care more about whether you can reason about unfamiliar problems and learn quickly.\n\nYou should have:\n\nStrong Python skills and experience building real applications with it.\n\nTypeScript & React experience. You should be comfortable working across the frontend rather than considering yourself backend-only.\n\nSolid database knowledge. You understand relational databases, PostgreSQL and the fundamentals of database design, querying and performance optimization.\n\nAPI experience. REST should be familiar territory, and you shouldn't be afraid of less pleasant integrations such as SOAP APIs.\n\nExperience with event driven architecture\n\nCritical thinking. If you think an architectural decision we've made is wrong, we want you to say so and explain what you'd do differently and why.\n\nPractical experience with AI-assisted development. We are looking for someone who knows how to get leverage from AI agents without blindly trusting what they produce. If OpenAI or Anthropic suddenly stop working, we don't want that to leave you stranded.\n\nBasic Dutch proficiency. You don't need perfect Dutch, but you should be able to function in a Dutch-speaking environment.\n\nSome understanding of accounting or the willingness to learn it. You don't need to be an accountant. You do need to understand the domain you're building for. It’s a plus if you enjoy working in the field\n\nExperience leading a team is a plus, not a requirement.\n\nThe kind of developer we'd like to work with\n\nYou enjoy doing technically difficult things with people you can trust and laugh with.\n\nYou're ambitious about becoming better at what you do, but don't need to prove that you're the smartest person in the room. You ask questions, challenge assumptions and expect others to challenge yours.\n\nYour ideas will be heard and your work matters.
