What You Will Do:

• Lead interconnection activities with utilities, Independent System Operators, and Regional Transmission Organizations from initial studies through agreement negotiations.
• Develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for high-voltage interconnections, substations, collection systems, transmission lines, and related equipment.
• Conduct or review power system studies, including power flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protection coordination, and grounding assessments.
• Provide technical leadership across internal teams, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and other project partners.
• Support the procurement of high-voltage equipment by developing technical bid packages, evaluating vendor submissions, and optimizing equipment and design solutions.
• Deliver practical technical recommendations that balance safety, reliability, cost, schedule, operability, and long-term asset performance.
• Track technical milestones, identify emerging risks, escalate concerns, and pursue opportunities to improve project design and execution.

Who You Are:

• You hold a university degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, and are registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada or the United States.
• You bring 8 or more years of progressive technical experience, including functional or informal leadership responsibilities.
• You have direct experience with utility-scale electrical systems, renewable energy interconnections, and high-voltage substation or transmission design.
• You understand North American interconnection processes and have experience working with Independent System Operators, Regional Transmission Organizations, or utilities.
• You can assess complex technical information and develop clear recommendations that consider commercial, schedule, safety, and lifecycle requirements.
• You are a collaborative communicator who can lead effective discussions and explain highly technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
• You anticipate issues, take initiative to resolve challenges, and provide calm, disciplined leadership in a fast-paced project environment.

Working Conditions:

• This position may be based in Canada or the United States, with the specific work location to be confirmed.
• The role is primarily performed in an office environment, with travel to project sites, supplier locations, and Enbridge offices.
• Travel is expected to average approximately 10% and may increase to as much as 25% during peak project periods.
• A valid driver’s licence and a satisfactory driving record are required.
• The role requires sound judgment and timely decision-making while managing changing priorities and complex project requirements.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Base Salary:

• Base salary ranges from $135,180 - $180,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
• Base salary ranges from $135,100 - $180,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
• Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
