At ENC, we prioritize safety, quality, innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth - creating vehicles our teams can take pride in. \nFounded in 1975, ENC (ElDorado National - California) is a leading U.S. transportation manufacturer specializing in design, engineering, and end-to-end production of heavy-duty buses, shuttles, and cargo vehicles through a custom-build, mixed-model assembly process. Each vehicle is produced in our purpose-built facility in Riverside, California supporting public agencies and private transportation providers nationwide. We offer one of the industry’s widest portfolios of power options, including 100% battery-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, and clean diesel. \nENC is committed to revitalizing American manufacturing through innovation, customer focus, and the delivery of high-quality vehicles that keep communities connected, supported, and moving forward. \nElectrical Process Engineer\nLocation: Riverside, CA\nSalary Range: $80,000 - $115,000 \n Position Summary\nWe are seeking an Electrical Process Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes for electrical systems in commercial vehicles, including low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) systems. This role translates electrical designs into production-ready bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, work instructions, and inspection procedures.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure wiring harnesses and electrical components are built and installed correctly, resolve manufacturing issues, and support new products from prototype builds through production.\n Key Responsibilities\nThis list of essential duties is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties, as management may deem necessary from time to time. The team member must be able to perform each essential job duty identified below satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of this position unless doing so would create an undue hardship.\nElectrical Manufacturing Processes and Documentation\nDevelop and maintain electrical production BOMs, harness assembly drawings, installation drawings, and work instructions based on approved engineering designs.\nDefine assembly sequences, wire routing, connector installation, fastening requirements, and inspection points for LV and HV systems.\nEstablish requirements for production tools, crimping equipment, test fixtures, and electrical diagnostic equipment.\nReview electrical designs for manufacturability, installation access, serviceability, and error prevention.\nCoordinate engineering changes and ensure production documents reflect the correct revisions.\nWiring and Harness Quality \nEstablish inspection criteria for in-house and supplier-built wiring harnesses, including wire gauge, length, identification, pin assignments, terminal crimps, connector assembly, and workmanship. \nDevelop pre-installation verification procedures to detect wiring errors before harnesses are installed in vehicles.\nDefine and implement continuity, short-circuit, polarity, and other applicable electrical checks.\nVerify that installed wiring has appropriate routing, support, protection, clearance, and strain relief.\nEstablish inspection requirements for HV cables and connections, including shielding, connector engagement, torque verification, and separation from other systems. \nInvestigate recurring defects and implement corrective actions to reduce rework and improve assembly quality.\nPrototype Development and Functional Testing \nSupport electrical assembly, commissioning, and functional verification of prototype vehicles and newly developed products.\nDevelop inspection plans, test procedures, acceptance criteria, and test records in coordination with design engineering and quality.\nTroubleshoot wiring, power distribution, grounding, sensors, actuators, controllers, and vehicle communication networks.\nSupport HV system integration and troubleshooting involving battery packs, contactors, pre-charge circuits, inverters, DC/DC converters, and charging systems.\nPerform or support high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL), insulation resistance, and other specified HV system checks using approved procedures.\nSupport approved controller programming, software loading, and parameter configuration while maintaining configuration traceability.\nDocument test results and coordinate issue resolution and retesting before production release.\nProduction Support and Continuous Improvement\nProvide hands-on technical support and train production personnel on electrical assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting procedures.\nLead root-cause investigations for electrical manufacturing defects and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.\nImprove assembly methods, workstation layouts, tooling, and test processes to increase consistency and efficiency.\nCapture lessons learned from prototype builds and incorporate them into production documentation.\nWork with suppliers to resolve harness and electrical component manufacturing issues.\nSafety and Work Area Organization\nDevelop and reinforce safe electrical assembly and testing practices, including applicable HV procedures.\nFollow and support implementation of lockout/tagout, electrical isolation, and verification of absence of voltage procedures.\nEnsure appropriate use of rated test equipment, insulated tools, and personal protective equipment.\nMaintain safe and organized prototype and electrical test areas, including clear identification of vehicle energization status, restricted work areas, tools, and components.\n Position Requirements\nBachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline is required.\n5+ years of relevant electrical manufacturing or process engineering experience, including hands-on experience with commercial vehicles.\nHands-on experience with HV electrical systems in electric or hybrid commercial vehicles is required, including battery packs, HV power distribution, contactors, pre-charge circuits, inverters, DC/DC converters, and charging systems.\nExperience developing electrical assembly processes, production BOMs, work instructions, and inspection or test procedures.\nAbility to interpret LV and HV electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, 2D drawings, and 3D assembly models.\nStrong knowledge of automotive wiring harness construction, crimping, connectors, grounding, circuit protection, and power distribution.\nExperience with HV cable installation, routing, inspection, HVIL verification, and insulation resistance testing.\nHands-on ability to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems using multimeters, insulation resistance testers, diagnostic software, and other appropriate test equipment.\nExperience following HV safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, verification of absence of voltage, and proper use of rated equipment and personal protective equipment.\nWorking knowledge of CAN bus communication and vehicle control systems.\nUnderstanding of programming fundamentals, controller configuration, and software loading procedures.\nExperience with engineering change control, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.\nStrong documentation, communication, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work regularly on the production floor and around prototype vehicles.\n Preferred Qualifications\nMaster of Science (MS) in
