In this high-impact commercial role, as the Category Manager - Trade, you will lead the development and execution of the 6-18 month category strategy, leveraging data and insights to drive continuous improvement, growth, sales, and profitability across our on-premise beverage offer.
Coordinating closely with the Category Manager - Range, you will lead promotional reviews, trading terms, and pricing negotiations, while unlocking supplier partnerships and driving activations for key on-premise occasions.
You will also inspire and empower your team, building strong talent pipelines and cultivating a guest-centric culture.

Here's a snapshot of the responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and execution of the 6-18 month category strategy for the ALH Value proposition, communicating business goals to ensure team and supplier alignment.
- Own and drive category sales, margins, and profitability against budget, maintaining rigorous financial tracking across daily and weekly reporting cadences.
- Drive category performance through best-practice strategic promotions, building accurate forecasts, managing post-promotional reviews, and communicating plans effectively across teams.
- Lead ALH Beverage trading terms and pricing negotiations (including CPI and competitor analysis reviews) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Cultivate strategic supplier partnerships and lead the supply captains program to secure exclusive opportunities, drive cost-out initiatives, and unlock resources to activate on-premise occasions such as sports, holidays, and major events.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire direct reports (ACM Trade), providing regular feedback, development plans, and robust succession strategies while fostering a collaborative, guest-centric team culture.
Now let’s talk about you:
- You bring 5+ years of experience in category management, promotions, and/or product marketing in a fast-paced, dynamic commercial environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Exceptional commercial acumen with a strong understanding of on-premise market fundamentals, proven P&L management, and strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, market research, and translating complex consumer and sales data into actionable commercial strategies.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, slide presentations, and relevant analytical software tools.
- Experience in hospitality or on-premise businesses, working within matrixed or agile organisations, familiarity with category management software tools, and knowledge of supply chain principles.
