If you thrive on positive energy, we want to meet you!\n Endeavour Group's Cloud & Infrastructure Services team is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) to design, automate, and maintain robust Azure systems infrastructure. In this role, you will engineer scalable solutions across Azure and GCP payloads, driving automation, security, performance, and reliability for business-critical applications while collaborating closely with Architecture, Cyber, and Digital teams.\nHybrid ways of working - Sydney or Melbourne location\nFixed Term Contract: 18 months\n Infrastructure Automation: Build and automate enterprise-scale Azure and GCP environments using cutting-edge Infrastructure as Code (IaC)\nArchitectural Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional architecture and cyber security teams to build secure-by-design cloud landing zones\nFinOps and Security: Pioneer FinOps practices and Zero Trust principles while solving complex, high-priority production challenges\nSounds good? Read on.\nHere is a taster of what you can expect in this role:\nPattern Co-Development: Work closely with architecture teams to co-develop infrastructure patterns and translate them into reusable Terraform IaC modules and blueprints.\nLegacy System Modernisation: Reverse engineer legacy solutions and modernise them into code-driven cloud patterns.\n Landing Zone Automation: Create IaC foundations and reusable Terraform modules aligned with Azure Landing Zones and the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).\nPipeline Automation Scripting: Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.\nProduction Incident Resolution: Respond urgently to high-criticality production incidents, driving creative troubleshooting to restore services quickly.\nCloud Network Design: Partner with network teams to design secure, scalable cloud networking topologies, managing WAF, DNS, and load balancing.\nCost Optimisation Governance: Embed FinOps practices into IaC patterns to optimise cloud spend, scale efficiently, and manage ongoing governance alongside the FinOps Manager.\nZero Trust Security: Apply secure-by-design principles and policy-as-code to enforce cyber security and privacy standards across deployments.\nSystem Reliability Assurance: Implement automated backup, recovery, and performance monitoring solutions to ensure continuous service availability and disaster recovery compliance.\n Now let’s talk about you:\nAzure Engineering Background: Hold 5+ years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer alongside strong Windows and Linux administration skills.\nRelevant Tertiary Qualification: Possess a tertiary degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.\nIaC Tooling Mastery: Demonstrate expert-level Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.\nCloud Architecture Delivery: Proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.\nCore Azure Expertise: Maintain deep hands-on expertise across core Azure services including compute, networking, firewalls, App Services, Logic Apps, storage, and databases.\n Advanced Networking Knowledge: Show strong understanding of complex cloud network topologies (e.g., hub-and-spoke, hybrid) along with DNS, WAF, and load balancing.\n Incident Troubleshooting Skills: Skilled in executing cloud cost optimisation initiatives and resolving high-criticality production incidents under ambiguity.\nHighly regarded (but not essential):\nGoogle Cloud Exposure: Hands-on exposure to GCP services such as NCC, PSC, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, VPC, and IAM.\nAzure Technical Certifications: Certified as an Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer.\nGCP Technical Certifications: Certified as a GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Cloud Digital Leader.\nThe benefits are good too!\nWe offer hybrid ways of working\nAn exclusive discount card for our ALH Hotels pubs & accommodation, BWS, Dan Murphy’s and other Endeavour Group brands.
