This role performs a variety of tasks, including landscaping, snow removal, assisting with event setup and breakdown, handling routine maintenance and minor repairs, and completing work orders. The position contributes to a functional, safe, and welcoming campus environment. We’re known for combining academic excellence with hands-on learning, and we take pride in fostering a supportive environment for both students and employees.\nWorking at Endicott means joining a close-knit campus community where your contributions matter and where collaboration, creativity, and professional growth are valued.\nTo learn more about our employee benefits click here.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerforms grounds maintenance tasks, including planting trees and shrubs, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and collecting leaves to keep the campus looking its best.\nClears snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, and other areas to keep pathways safe and accessible.\nAssists with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for events and functions, ensuring timely and efficient service.\nGeneral laborer work includes moving and arranging furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed, in accordance with safety guidelines.\nCompletes minor repairs and maintenance projects as assigned or in response to work orders.\nTroubleshoots and performs minor repairs on equipment to keep it operating properly.\nPicks up trash and disposes of waste daily to keep the environment clean and safe.\nPerforms miscellaneous tasks and assignments as directed to support departmental operations.\nParticipates in the on-call rotation policy to address urgent needs and emergencies.\nPerforms other duties as needed to support department and campus goals.\nCommunity Engagement\nBe an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Works under general supervision.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNone\nCore Competencies\nReliability: able to get the job done, available and engaged with the job and the Endicott community.\nOrganization: organizes time and resources well so that work is done efficiently and on time.\nCommunication Skills: has clear, effective and efficient ways of communicating, both orally and in writing.\nAdaptability: shows a willingness to adopt new ideas and to do things differently.\nFollow Through: takes ownership of projects and sees them through fruition.\nCustomer Service: anticipates the needs and responds to queries in a timely, competent, and approachable manner.\nInitiative/Personal Leadership: identifies opportunities for improvement and actively contributes to solutions.\nTeam Player: shows a willingness to collaborate and share information, knowledge and experience with team members.\nQualifications and Skills\nA minimum of two years of experience in facilities operations, grounds maintenance, or general repair work, preferably in a college or institutional environment.\nProven reliability, a strong work ethic, and a consistent record of meeting job commitments and deadlines.\nDemonstrated ability to provide responsive, professional customer service while maintaining a positive, helpful attitude during interactions with students, staff, and visitors.\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and completing documentation.\nStrong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while remaining accountable for individual performance.\nAbility to work overtime or flexible hours in response to events or emergency situations.\nPractical skills and knowledge to perform assigned tasks effectively.\nAdaptability and a positive approach to handling varied responsibilities.\nA minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks.\nKnowledge of day-to-day operations in a college environment.\nMust provide proof of a valid Mass. driver's license and a current DOT medical form annually.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a valid Department of Public Safety Hoisting License.\nIn compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the hourly pay range for this position is $22.60-$25.00 per hour. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) job responsibilities, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and external market data when determining pay. The final hourly rate is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors.
