By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on environmental impact, deployment speed, and cost.\nWhat you'll be doing\nAs a CNC Machinist/Programmer at Endurance Energy, you will work alongside mechanical and electrical engineers to program and machine precision parts that make up our subsea geothermal power generators.\nYou will be responsible for taking parts from released models/drawings to finished hardware, writing CNC programs in CAM systems like Mastercam and running them on the floor. You will machine components in Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys to tight tolerances, and you will have full control over work holding, tool holding, cutting tool selection, and machining strategy for every part.\nYou are expected to operate with high ownership on the floor: proving out programs and pushing parts to finished quality without waiting for direction.\nThis is a critical position where your speed, precision, and judgment directly impact our ability to hit hardware milestones on aggressive timelines.\nKey Responsibilities\nCreate CNC programs in CAM systems such as Mastercam (or similar) for milling, turning, and mill-turn work\n\nMachine precision parts in Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys to aerospace-type tolerances\n\nSelect work holding, tool holding, cutting tools, and machining strategies\n\nSet up and operate CNC machines, including 5-axis milling and/or mill-turn machines\n\nProve out new programs and refine feeds, speeds, and strategies to improve cycle time and tool life\n\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining documentation\n\nPerform in-process and final inspection of machined parts using precision measurement tools\n\nIdentify and resolve fit-up, tolerance, and machinability issues in real time\n\nDrive clean, organized, and repeatable machining processes on the floor\n\nDocument setups, programs, and issues for engineering and QA traceability\n\nSupport rapid prototyping and iteration under tight timelines\n\nCollaborate with design and integration engineers to improve part manufacturability\n\nMaintain a safe working environment, machines, and tooling\n\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and machining\n\nExtensive experience creating CNC programs in CAM systems like Mastercam, or similar\n\nExtensive experience machining Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys\n\nStrong experience in 5-axis milling and/or mill-turn programming and machining (expertise in one area is acceptable; strength in both is ideal)\n\nProven ability to select work holding, tool holding, cutting tools, and machining strategies independently\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T\n\nStrong mechanical intuition and ability to troubleshoot machining issues quickly\n\nHigh attention to detail and craftsmanship in machining work\n\nTrack record of working effectively in fast-paced, prototype-driven environments\n\nHigh ownership mindset and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong experience in both 5-axis milling and mill-turn programming and machining\n\nExperience developing feeds, speeds, and tooling libraries for difficult-to-machine alloys\n\nBackground in high-pressure, high-temperature, or thermal systems hardware\n\nExperience in marine, subsea, aerospace, or energy hardware environments\n\nCMM or advanced metrology experience\n\nLight fabrication and manual machining experience (lathe, mill, drill press)\n\nExperience supporting test operations and building custom fixtures or tooling\n\nAbility to contribute to fixture design and work-holding tooling\n\nCompensation, Benefits, & Perks\nAs a pre-revenue startup, Endurance Energy offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees.
