By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on environmental impact, deployment speed, and cost.\nWhat you'll be doing\nAs a Senior Electrical Test Engineer at Endurance, you will own the test systems for our subsea electronics: the racks, fixtures, interface harnesses, automation software, and procedures we use to develop, qualify, and accept every subsea electrical system we build.\nThis is a design-ownership role. You will partner with subsystem design engineers, reviewing ICDs, requirements, and designs to determine the best approach to validating them across an array of environmental conditions, including temperature, extreme pressure, and accelerated stress testing.\nOnce deployed, our hardware cannot be serviced. The tests you design and execute are the best chance we have to find problems while they are still easy to fix. Your judgment about what to test, and how rigorously, will directly determine whether our systems run reliably on the seafloor.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the hardware test systems for Endurance's subsea electronics end to end: requirements, architecture, design, build, bring-up, documentation, and upkeep\n\nWork with each subsystem's electrical RE from the start of development, derive test requirements from their design and interface documents, and provide design-for-test feedback\n\nDesign and build test racks, unit-under-test (UUT) fixtures, and interface and breakout harnesses that connect UUTs to power, loads, instrumentation, and data acquisition, including through pressure-vessel bulkheads and penetrators\n\nWrite automated test software for instrument control, data acquisition, sequencing, limit checking, and report generation\n\nPlan and run development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns: functional and power tests, hipot and insulation resistance, thermal, and pressure testing in hyperbaric chambers\n\nWrite test plans and procedures, set pass/fail criteria with the RE, execute the tests, and author test reports\n\nTroubleshoot failures to the component level, separate test-system faults from UUT faults, and drive root cause and corrective action\n\nBuild test capability that scales from one-off development units to production acceptance test of commercial systems, improving coverage, cycle time, and operator usability as we grow\n\nHelp define Endurance's test standards, lab infrastructure, and test-equipment supplier base\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM discipline\n\n3+ years of experience in hardware or electronics test engineering, instrumentation, or data acquisition system design for complex hardware\n\nHands-on experience designing, building, and bringing up electronics test systems: racks, fixtures, interface harnesses, DAQ, power supplies, and electronic loads\n\nFluency with electrical lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, and source measure units\n\nWorking knowledge of common hardware interfaces: CAN, RS-422/485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and analog signal conditioning and conversion\n\nAbility to read schematics and debug electronics at the board and component level\n\nExperience writing test plans, procedures, and reports, and defining pass/fail criteria with design engineers\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians\n\nComfortable in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment where designs evolve rapidly, including extended hours during critical test campaigns\n\nAbility to work onsite in Seattle and travel to deployment sites as required\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience testing hardware for subsea, marine, aerospace, or defense systems\n\nExperience with environmental qualification testing: pressure/hyperbaric, thermal, vibration, and shock\n\nExperience with high-voltage and high-power electronics test, including safety interlocks, hipot, and insulation resistance\n\nExperience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test and simulation of subsystem interfaces\n\nExperience with PLCs or industrial control hardware for test-cell automation and safety\n\nUnderstanding of metrology, measurement uncertainty, and calibration practice\n\nCompensation, Benefits, & Perks\nAs a pre-revenue startup, Endurance Energy offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees.
