By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on environmental impact, deployment speed, and cost.\nWhat you'll be doing\nAs a Senior Harness Engineer at Endurance, you will own the design and implementation of our subsea hardware’s power, data, and signal interconnections.\nThis is a design-ownership role. You will take schematics and interface documents from our engineers and turn them into complete harness designs: connector and cable selection, shielding and grounding strategy, routing and strain relief, overmold and penetrator approach, termination specifications, drawings, and BOMs. You will decide what we build in-house and what we send out, and you will qualify and manage the outside harness shops, connector vendors, and molders we rely on.\nHarness failures are among the most common causes of lost subsea hardware. Your judgment and execution will have a substantial impact on the success of our deployments.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn harness design for subsea deployment and test systems, from interface definition through released drawings\n\nParticipate in and own technical trades that will balance stakeholder objectives and drive system architecture, including how and whether subsystems are physically partitioned\n\nProduce harness drawings, physical layouts in CAD, BOMs, and termination specifications\n\nDefine the manufacturing plan for each harness: what is built in-house, what goes to partners, the tooling required, and the build sequence\n\nHelp identify and qualify external harness manufacturers, connector and cable suppliers, and overmolding partners\n\nDefine acceptance test requirements for continuity, hipot, insulation resistance, and pressure, and review results with the build team\n\nPartner with our production team on DFM, assembly tooling, and work instructions, and incorporate build feedback into designs\n\nTroubleshoot harness and interconnect faults on test systems and deployed hardware, and drive root cause and corrective action\n\nHelp shape harness standards and the supplier base as Endurance scales from demonstration to commercial systems\n\nInvestigate new technologies and approaches to solve our unique requirements\n\nRequired Qualifications\n3+ years of engineering experience designing and delivering wiring harnesses or electrical interconnect for complex hardware systems\n\nStrong understanding of connectors, cable construction, shielding, grounding, and signal integrity, and of how harnesses fail in the field\n\nExperience producing harness drawings, BOMs, termination specifications, and 3D layouts in CAD (e.g., Siemens NX)\n\nWorking knowledge of harness test methods including hipot, insulation resistance, and continuity testing\n\nHands-on experience building and terminating prototypes\n\nAbility to perform basic PCBA or component level electrical measurements and debugging\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to work closely with technicians, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers\n\nComfortable in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment where designs evolve rapidly\n\nAbility to work onsite in Seattle and travel to deployment sites as required\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience designing harnesses for marine, subsea, aerospace, or defense systems\n\nExperience with wet-mate and dry-mate subsea connectors, penetrators, overmolding, and PBOF systems\n\nExperience pressure-testing or qualifying subsea assemblies\n\nExperience debugging electrical systems and circuit boards\n\nExperience qualifying and managing harness manufacturers or connector suppliers\n\nCertification in or knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and related assembly and inspection standards\n\nCompensation, Benefits, & Perks\nAs a pre-revenue startup, Endurance Energy offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees.
