The role provides assurance over Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs), key IT processes supporting financial reporting, and other technology-related risks through both SOX compliance and Internal Audit engagements.\nResponsibilities include maintaining an understanding of the organization's technology environment and systems supporting financial processes, coordinating risk assessments, documentation, scoping, and control testing activities, and participating in IT SOX, Internal Audit, and advisory engagements. The position also supports the identification and remediation of control deficiencies and provides guidance on controls related to process improvements, system implementations, and technology changes.\nThis role is based out of our Downtown Calgary office.\nPrinciple Responsibilities and Duties\nPartner with IT, Security, Finance, Compliance, and business stakeholders to support technology risk, internal control, audit, and SOX initiatives.\nMaintain an understanding of the organization's technology environment, key systems, and related risks.\nCoordinate project activities, documentation, status reporting, and stakeholder communications across multiple assurance initiatives.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies.\nCoordinate the planning, documentation, testing, and reporting of IT SOX controls, ensuring key deliverables and timelines are met.\nMaintain IT control documentation, including narratives, process flows, risk and control matrices, and supporting evidence.\nSupport Corporate control testing activities and assist with evaluating control deficiencies and remediation plans.\nAct as a liaison between control owners, management, and external auditors for IT SOX-related activities.\nSupport the execution of IT audits, advisory reviews, risk assessments, and special projects.\nPerform walkthroughs, control testing, documentation reviews, and analysis of technology processes and controls.\nAssist in developing audit observations, recommendations, and reports for management.\nMonitor and validate remediation activities to support the timely closure of audit findings.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or a related field.\nCISA, CISSP, CIA, CPA or equivalent professional certification required.\n6+ years of experience in IT audit, internal audit, external audit, or a related assurance function.\nPrior IT SOX compliance and controls testing experience required.\nExperience with SAP ERP systems is preferred.\nKnowledge of IT risk assessment methodologies, IT General Controls (ITGCs), cybersecurity controls, cloud technologies, and leading IT governance frameworks such as COBIT and NIST.\nFamiliarity with PCAOB auditing standards and SOX compliance requirements.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail.\nDemonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability across all levels of the organization.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.\nWillingness and ability to travel to operating regions as required.\nAbout Us:\nTransforming Energy for a Sustainable Future.
