Duties include learning from and assisting other senior level technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of refrigeration and process systems. The purpose of the trainee level is to acquire a degree of proficiency in performing all maintenance actions with direct supervision that will allow for progression to the Service Technician I level.\nPrinciple Responsibilities and Duties\nRepresents the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values.\nResponsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.\nAssists in the diagnoses of reciprocating and screw compressors and associated systems, service, overall, and failure analysis.\nAssists in timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, controls on refrigeration and process systems.\nAssists with response to recurring problems and emergency services as needed.\nAssists with installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections.\nAssists with mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and other specialty tools.\nAll duties and responsibilities could include a large amount of (multi state) travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays.\nMust recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location\nOther duties assigned by manager.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nSome minimal vocational/technical aptitude or interest.\nCertification in Refrigeration Theory and Principles\nNo Experience necessary, 1 year applicable and transferable experience preferred.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen, back ground check and post offer physical testing.\nValid motor vehicle driver’s license.\nPossess basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and industrial maintenance etc.\nHas or willingness to purchase and maintain tools of the trade (With exceptions of specialty or OEM specific diagnostic equipment)\nDemonstrates an ability to learn in both hands on and classroom setting.\nProficiency with a personal computer and common applicable functions/programs is preferred. \nMotivated self-starter capable of working independently with proper direction.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write legible, routine correspondence and to speak effectively as well as coherently with management and other employees\nKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of refrigeration and process systems\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly/frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and Infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.\nWork Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverse outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
