This position is responsible for ensuring Engineering and Design teams have standardized processes, applications, data structures, training, and support required to execute projects consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.\nThis role serves as the functional leader for CAD systems, design methodologies, engineering design standards, and engineering master data governance, including classification data used across EDM, SAP, CADWorx, and custom engineering systems. The role partners with Engineering, Design, Product Development, Manufacturing, Projects, Procurement, Quality, and Information Technology to improve engineering execution, design quality, CAD-to-EDM workflows, material data accuracy, and system integration.\nPrinciple Responsibilities and Duties\nCAD Technologies, Design Tools, and System Enablement\nLead administration, governance, and continuous improvement of CAD and other integrated engineering design applications.\nDevelop roadmaps and implementation plans for CAD technologies, engineering design tools, and supporting engineering systems.\nManage software configuration, templates, libraries, symbols, catalogs, specifications, and standardized design environments.\nLead evaluation, testing, deployment, and adoption of new CAD technologies and design software solutions.\nCoordinate CAD upgrades, customizations, integrations, and enhancement projects.\nPartner with IT and Engineering Systems teams to ensure stability, performance, and supportability of engineering applications integrated with CAD design technologies.\nOversee development and maintenance of CAD support documentation, user guides, and training materials.\nIdentify opportunities for automation and productivity improvements within engineering and design workflows.\nEngineering Data Governance and Classification Management\nMaintain engineering classification data, characteristics, property values, material codes, and supporting databases to ensure integrity across EDM, SAP, CADWorx, and custom engineering systems.\nServe as the primary liaison between Engineering, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, and CAD Administration for material master data, BOM, catalog, and specification-related issues.\nDevelop and maintain material data rules, governance policies, controlled value lists, and classification standards.\nGather stakeholder feedback and identify opportunities to improve engineering data quality, system usability, and classification maintenance processes.\nTroubleshoot material, catalog, specification, BOM, and part-numbering issues related to CADWorx, EDM, SAP, and engineering deliverable workflows.\nLead continuous improvement activities to review, clean, standardize, and maintain engineering classification and material data.\nSupport Material Administration governance activities and cross-functional data stewardship meetings.\nDesign Process Improvement and Enablement\nLead and support initiatives that improve engineering and design efficiency, quality, and consistency.\nDevelop and implement standardized workflows and best practices supporting engineering execution.\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve engineering productivity.\nSupport digital transformation initiatives impacting engineering and design activities.\nSupport measure of performance metrics related to design quality, efficiency, resource utilization, and adoption of standards.\nStakeholder Engagement and Leadership\nWork closely with Engineering, Design, Product Development, Manufacturing, Projects, Procurement, Quality, and IT teams.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance regarding design systems, standards, and methodologies.\nParticipate in engineering governance, standards review, and technology planning activities.\nSupport strategic initiatives led by the Engineering & Design Systems Manager.\nQualifications\nEducation and Certification\nTechnical Degree or Diploma or equivalent preferred in Engineering, Design, Science, or a related field\n10+ years Engineering and Design experience in a Manufacturing environment\n5+ years of direct supervisory or lead experience on technical personnel or programs\n5+ years of experience in the use, implementation, configuring, testing, administration of CAD systems\nTechnical competency of piping, pressure vessel, structural design concepts\nApplication Experience or Knowledge Preferred:\nAutodesk Products - AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks\nCADWorx Pant and CADWorx PID applications\nBricSys - BricsCAD\nProCAM application for HGG Profiler\nTWI Welding Coordinator and Qualifier software\nGeneral SAP knowledge, primarily in PP, PS, MM\nSpecific Work Background/Experience\nStrong problem-solving skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences\nGood organizational and planning skills.\nCoordinate with others to accomplish objectives.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions\nAbility to deliver written information outputs and verbal presentations when required\nSelf-motivated, ability to work under general supervision; close attention to detail\nClear and concise verbal and written communications\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
