In this role, you will be responsible for painting of gas compression and gas processing power generation equipment to a high standard. You will have sound knowledge of paint products, methods and techniques related to painting as well as safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products. You will be a team player with a strong focus on safety.\nPrinciple Responsibilities and Duties\nBe capable of performing all aspects of the Paint Department.\nAbility to read paint specifications and understand them and other technical documents such as paint mixing procedures as required by the job of the Industrial Painter.\nSelects paint according to company color scheme and specifications.\nApply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to heavy equipment using brushes, spray guns, sandblasting equipment, or rollers. May use epoxy, latex or enamel coatings.\nMix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies.\nRespiratory protection is common and required in many applications.\nResponsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.\nA wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. \nMay train, lead, and direct others.\nPerform other duties as required.\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED or 2 year technical/vocational training required.\nMinimum of 1 - 8 years of direct industry experience required.\nNACE Level 3 Certification desired.\nForklift operator experience required. \nHas knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. \nRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. \nMust have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation. \nMust be able to define surface preparation and coating systems to be applied.\nMust know how to use paint gun and pot.\nHave a keen understanding of how to mix paint (no runs, miss spots, sags, or drips).\nWork within precise limits or standards of accuracy.\nWork under limited supervision.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
