Completes routine paperwork and documentation as required.\nPrinciple Responsibilities and Duties\nWork outdoors and indoors covering flanges, taping and wrapping instruments and applying preservation methods for shipping preparation.\nManually lift and load materials into crates on pallets and off on trucks safely.\nCompares identifying information, and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against drawings, BOM’s, bills of lading, PO’s, orders, or other records.\nTransfers materials and items from receiving or production areas to shipping or to other designated areas.\nDrives company vehicle, operates forklift to transport items from shop to shipping warehouse or storage as needed, as well as pick up items from storage as required.\nSorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined areas. Marks material with identifying information.\nPrepares project skids, engines / motors, and ship loose materials, or other items accordingly. Initiates restock of ship prep supplies, as necessary.\nWorks with Shipping Specialist and current shipping documents / programs to compete shipment materials.\nAssembles wooden or cardboard crates / cartons or selects pre-assembled crates.\nPrepare product for domestic and international shipping using proper packing techniques to insure safe arrival of goods and products. \nDetermines best method of ship prep with components and materials for packing / shipping.\nTakes an active part in safety processes while maintaining the 5-S methods.\nOther duties as assigned by Shipping Lead\nQualifications\nPrevious shipping and receiving experience preferred.\nBasic knowledge of drawings and diagrams.\nMust possess aptitude necessary to do shipping prep with multiple pieces following standard practices in all weather conditions.\nBasic understanding of light carpentry, banding machines, small hand tools.\nAble to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and pallet jacks within a warehouse environment.\nRequires Valid Driver’s License, receive and maintain forklift and manlift certification.\nGood customer service skills; displays a professional can-do attitude.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.\nMaintain daily equipment inspections.\nSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.\nOvertime may be required as business need requires.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.\nWork Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles.
